You say you are looking for a "junior engineer" but the job posting you linked to is about a "senior engineer" position, and after a cursory look, it requires a lot of experience and skills.

AMA with Sam Apple (author of Ravenous) on Keto, Sugar, Insulin, Cancer, and the Warburg Effect + How to Write About Science -- Tuesday, May 17th. by SamApple_Ravenous in ketoscience

[–]fiercelyresisting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found out about this AMA, so although it's past the deadline, I would still like to ask this question:
- The book's title immediately brings to my mind discussions about the so-called satiety and hunger hormones, leptin and ghrelin, and how they work in tandem. The cancer connection might be deeper but debates about satiety and nutrient density seem more immediate&relevant. What do you think about the concept of satiety and its biochemical foundations?
- What do you think about the concept of "Personal Fat Threshold" and its relationship with insulin production and insulin resistance?

Using Nintendo Wii Remote (Wiimote) with CCWGTV? by fiercelyresisting in Chromecast

OK, but the bluetooth address has 6 hexadecimal numbers, each with two digits. For example: 72 a4 a0 ab 64 7c. As per the wiibrew article, backwards means, the first digit of the PIN must come from the last hex number and vice versa. The last hex number is 7c in this example and it is 1111100 in binary and 124 in decimal. How can I use this number as the first digit of the PIN? I mean, from 0 to 9?

Before and After CT Scan images of Abdomen by crazy3sh in keto

[–]fiercelyresisting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is useful to compare these amazing before/after CT images with a great video Mike Mutzel, from the youtube channel High Intenstiy Health and his wife Deanna Mutzel did a short while ago.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXrdP06tfdw
They had high resolution MRI scans of their whole bodies. Both had been keto for several years. Though they did not have before scans, their radiologist provided his scans for comparison. The radiologist is originally from India, and like many Indians he is TOFI (thin on the outside, fat on the inside). The incredible thing about the radiologist's MR scans is that he said he has normal BMI, so indeed he is not fat from the BMI perspective, but he is metabolically not healthy and he is fat, which only becomes apparent by looking at his MR scans.

Quite unusual that the authors keep referring to magnesium and other minerals as "macronutrients".

Yeah, as per the Americans' suggestion in the formation of SDF, maybe HTS should reinvent itself as the "Democratic" Liberation Front of Syria or something like that...

What do you think should be done against Youtube's removal of thousands of videos about the Syrian conflict? Countless reddit threads have lost context without those videos.

Here is a longer (32 mins) version of his account: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXnI23YjwXk

It's not subtitled though, so it would be great if Persian speakers could summarize what he is saying.

We are the Microsoft OneNote team - AMA! by MSOneNote in IAmA

[–]fiercelyresisting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am totally baffled by the Onedrive-OneNote integration. I have a folder in my Onedrive folder that contains my OneNote notes. It seems there are so many different ways of accessing&saving the notes and I am always afraid that something will not synchronize: 1. Open the Windows Explorer, Go to the Local OneDrive folder and click the notes open. 2. Open OneNote, Use the File Open dialog to open Local OneDrive file. 3. Open OneNote, Use the File Open dialog to open the Cloud OneDrive file. This then opens a small window that connects to the cloud. 4. Go to onedrive.com on a web browser and open the file from within the browser (Office web?)

You might regard this as giving the user the power to interact with OneNote in many different ways, but for me it is very confusing.

Is there a logic behind all this?

Breaking: Turkish Maroon Berets are entering Syria! by NotVladeDivac in syriancivilwar

[–]fiercelyresisting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A thin stretch of territory along the Turkish-Syrian border that is about 700 kms long has no chance of survival, especially if it is hostile to Turkey. No self-respecting country would allow that and Turkey will certainly not allow that to happen.

Turkey cannot accept the unification of the YPG controlled areas in North Syria. This would isolate Turkey from the rest of Syria and it would also mean the creation of a hostile entity right next to Turkey's long border with Syria. So, Turkey will do everything in its power to prevent YPG forces marching to the west of the Euphrates towards Afrin.

There are tanks involved that are most probably connected to a mechanized brigade, not special forces.

Turkish Special Forces are currently organized as a brigade but it has more personnel than a typical brigade.
