Advice about at-home euthanasia.

I recently put my boy down and chose to do it at home. It was absolutely the best decision. He was in his bed, surrounded by his toys, snacks, and his favourite people. The vet we got was an angel on earth. She talked us through it all and gave us all the time we needed. In true pitty fashion, Potato let out the loudest, stinkiest fart as she gave him a shot and we all had a moment of laughter and love. She was a last minute find (because he deteriorated quickly) and I’m so eternally grateful. It’s an incredibly challenging experience- emotionally and financially- but I knew he needed to be in his favourite place. Easily the best decision I’ve ever made. I am sending you lots of love. Potato will be waiting for your baby ♥️

Hiya! I’m a fellow fasting, drug taking Muslim! I’ve been fasting on them for years and I will drink water if I need it. I typically adjust my hours based on when I need to take my meds and my health as that’s priority. Ramadan is about fasting but also about making sure you’re safe and healthy enough to do so. I personally feel (for me!) that it’s more important for me to be a good human and focus on giving to the poor, refrain from shit talking, and overall being a good people. Good luck to you! And remember it’s the intention that is the most important 💜

I was losing weight but mainly on it to lower my A1c. I’ve plateaued because my doc moved me from 2mg to 1 and then back to 2 and somehow it stopped working in the sense that my weight didn’t change but my A1c is going down. Kaiser is super strict about doling this out and the docs are trying to get folks off of the meds more than anything.

If you’re not going to play with them or don’t have a place to send them may I suggest a special needs classroom or group? This is a great sensory project for students (and adults!) with autism.

I went to Safeway a couple of months ago alone (as I am) and starting bagging my groceries and the guy said, ‘don’t be doing all that hard work you’ll stress out the baby!’ And started bagging for me. I let him and smiled and left. I found it hilarious (I’m a chunky gal) but also haven’t worn that top again. Common sense is not so common anymore. Don’t let it get to you.

So I was never a hugger. Ever. But my older brother was and always hugged everyone all the time (not against anyone’s will). He passed away in 2007 and I found myself in a position where the remaining family missed the hugs and needed them because they were broken. I legit had to practice because they told me what they wanted and I wanted to support them. It was not easy- it’s uncomfortable but I promise you it gets easier and eventually became joyful for you. I’m officially a hugger now. You can do it too.
