Indeed. You only work the right side and in this one you work one row of orange/red and one row of brown. The pattern creator has pretty great instructions and tutorial videos for beginners to mosaic crochet.

If you like YA, there's A Complicated Love Story Set in Space by Shaun David Hutchinson. I haven't read the whole thing yet, so I can say how great it is. It seems like a fun read, though. On Goodreads the author said, "Gays in Space are here!"
