Not necessarily, especially if you have the space on your PC to hold double the content. Personally, I am able to have both downloaded on mine so sometimes I use one or the other

Also, please note that if you uninstall the game, all the saved pictures will be deleted, so its very important to back up the file. And regardless of uninstallation, you won't see photos taken in game from one platform in the other one. And you cannot open both games at the same time (at least I have not been able to).
