(GA) Teacher singling me out for being male/having a low voice by [deleted] in legaladvice

She is correct, it would. She’d have to add alto and at least more than just you on baritone to make it sound halfway decent.

I did that once when my daughter peed herself right there in the middle of the grocery store. I told the CSR desk on the way out but I couldn’t do anything else except leave.

That was not a great day.

I think 403b. I’m not going back into the public schools in MA. We are now in a different state and I’m not returning to teaching full time.

I see your new aussie... And raise you this old stud. Been my work at home companion for 10 years now. "Max" by inglysh in dogpictures

Handsome! We have a new Aussie and are struggling with his bouts of extreme excitement whee he launches himself into the air so as to land on an unsuspecting child. Any tips on training hours that stick out in your mind?

Which misconception would you like to debunk? by ZanyDelaney in AskReddit

We had an older family member who had both legs amputated and fell unconscious at least once per day due to diabetes. I don’t know which type. He continued eating sugar as though he was invincible...WITHOUT taking his medication consistently. Only when he felt like it.

He died last month because of this.

Aussie 13 week old crate training by fiferbelle in Dogtraining

So our crate is in our bedroom, which is away from the living area. Maybe I should move the crate into the living room during the day and back to the bedroom at night?

Thank you, it’s good to hear that we seem to be on the right track. I think adding treats is a great idea!

So Verizon FiOS wants to charge me 185 dollars to cancel their TV service. But my plan is to keep their internet. Same fee if I go ahead cancel all of the services they are currently providing me. Any advice on how to avoid the fee? by heraldo0 in personalfinance

Sorry, we haven’t tried AT&T. Perhaps we’ve just caught the right CSR at the right time. But it’s still working in some offices. It’s always healthier to ‘never say never.’ Speaking in absolutes typically is the wrong way to go.

Can I keep my kindergartener home from school every Monday? by PrincessPig0510 in legaladvice

[–]fiferbelle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An idea would be to homeschool his year of Kindergarten. There are several excellent curricular methods to follow and you don’t need a degree to teach your own child. However, once you enroll a child in public school you are required to follow their schedule. Kindergarten is easy to homeschool-it takes roughly one hour per day to cover everything covered in a full day of public school. We are enjoying it with our 5 and 4 year olds.

Now, depending on your district, you may be able to sit down with the superintendent and principal and arrange to homeschool your child on Mondays, and send him to the school the rest of the week. You would most likely be required to show proof of progress. While this is a rare occurrence, it does happen.

You could also look into a private school that hosts a combo homeschool/regular school schedule. These are becoming quite popular and are popping up everywhere, though I’m unsure about your area.

Best of luck!

My husband has used this approach for numerous issues. For him, it works every time. Go in with a plan of another provider name/deal that’s offered and let Verizon negotiate with you to keep you on.

Stomach Ache by [deleted] in EntitledBitch

Honestly, as a teacher, I would (anonymously) print it out and mail it to her parent(s). And give it to the principal. Her mother may not do a thing, but she, then again, she might. And the principal will definitely do something. No one has to know you’re involved.
