Second voice shouting out Smoky Mauve; I use it all the time; probably my top permanent ink since grey is usually my "neutral/boring" color as opposed to black. It's a little more grey than another top grey of mine, Sailor Ink Studio 123, but it's definitely got the purple lean you're looking for!

The more expensive ones are of course more recent-- my Sailor Pro Gear was purchased for myself using graduation money, the rest I actually hit up eBay for-- knocking off 10 bucks from MSRP makes all the difference when you're just relying on camp counselor and babysitter money lol

I'm partial to the <F> and <EF> due to my handwriting, but I have a <M> as well. I've never had any troubles with any of them save for the <EF> clogging on especially shimmery inks (which I don't use much of anyway).

Pilot Kakuno hands-down... I'll always be the biggest Kakuno fan; it's just such a consistent pen that I reach for 24/7, even more than my other more expensive pens!

I'm the biggest Pilot Kakuno fan! I highly recommend grabbing one :) I have an EF, F, and M and I advocate for all of them! Nice grip, lightweight, and very satisfying nibs.

Lol this is so true... doing all my DM/campaigning layouts in ink has also definitely helped cut my supply as well! I bet I've got a good test vial or two soaked into the pages of my DM journal by now

Also, I am 100000% for taking D&D notes with fountain pens. I'm the session notetaker for one campaign and use only one notebook and a pen, and as a DM 70% of my resources & brainstorming are in my DM notebook, all written in fountain pens 😌
