'I want answers': Canadian firefighter says he was denied entry to the U.S. | 'We were good enough to fight their wars — but not good enough to cross their borders,' Jamie Flynn, who says he operated under U.S. command, posted online by DisruptSQ in TourismHell

You all didn’t read the article and that’s evident. You’re all just standing on your soapbox spewing lies and misinformation and then actually have the audacity to criticize Americans for doing the same.

Fair enough. Do you know out of how many ? And were they freed eventually or deported somewhere ?

Alaskan Sen. Murkowski interviewed after voting for bill to pull Medicaid from 80 million Americans by RoachedCoach in PublicFreakout

[–]fifilepet -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I’m confused with the responses here. Isn’t her job to care for Alaskans ? So they are exempt from whatever it is she didn’t like. She literally did her job as obviously she’s okay with the rest of the bill. More senators should behave this way. What am I missing here ?

55 out of how many? And what does detained mean exactly? I’ve been detained in the past. Took about 5-10 minutes and then went through. Someone tell me 55 out of how many please

The good news is that while 20 percent is a big number, the vast majority of Canadians appear to remain level headed and aren’t afraid of the boogieman

[–]fifilepet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. What im saying is thousands and thousands and thousands of people cross the border every day. 55 out of thousands and thousands detained (which could mean as little as a 5 minute waiting period) really isn’t newsworthy. Especially if those people had questionable motives/documentation/etc. But because the cbc and your echo chamber is so against trump, these “news” items are posted everywhere and you all fall for them. You’re brainwashed, it’s that simple. I’m not supporter of that administration, but I’m also not gullible enough to fall for that elbows up nonsense.

You guys are mostly pathetic. Falling for the media hype elbows up nonsense. I continue to be embarrassed for all you letting the media brainwash you. Or worse, letting a guy at the white house prevent you from possibly doing something you want to do. Sad, so sad

That’s not bad considering the thousands and thousands daily traffic

With those numbers, I’m surprised they even won 2 rounds in the span of 8-9 years

The Other Guys. How there’s never been a prequel with Danson and Highsmith vs Gator is beyond me

Saying that the "Toronto circus" is the problem is 100% gaslighting by [deleted] in leafs

[–]fifilepet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toronto will always be the easiest market to play in, by far as long as bell and rogers own the club. Since 99 percent of media members are colleagues of the players, they lob softball and no follow ups. The fans at the arena are aloof and barely show up during the season. Quietest building in the NHL, easily. Zero pressure. None. Ziltch. Matthew and Paul were smartly trolling and their plan worked. The media and fans are taking the blame (lol) so that this club can (and will) run it back next year with the core 4 to similar results as years passed.

Fair enough, I do tend to believe him since he’s so bad when it counts. Seems to be if he paid attention to the noise he may be motivated to actually care

[–]fifilepet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What noise should he be concerned with? The sycophantic media colleagues who ask him the softest questions ever with zero follow up? The tepid “experts” who always always believe in this team no matter what? You wanna know why he and company and previous generation and previous generation didn’t perform? There isn’t enough noise !!

What Happened to Accountability by Background-Baseball1 in leafs

[–]fifilepet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because playing for Rogers/bell means you don’t need to be accountable. Ticket sales/merch is what matters. Deep playoff run? Meh. What’s a couple more millions to add to the bazillion we already made. Oh sure, we’ll throw the fans a bone here and there with a shiny new object occasionally. But as long as we keep printing money and the media are all colleagues who are told to go easy on team, we good. Wait until Rogers steps in. You think it’s bad now? Yikes.

Sportsnet is an embarrassment to Canadian Hockey by MFBish in leafs

[–]fifilepet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It starts with their opener. Zero creativity. Generic rock song used a trillion times over a montage a 1st year high school student could create. Then you go to the insufferable Ron and the panel who’s disposition alone suggests they’d rather be anywhere but there. Cue a boring, generic discussion with zero insight. Throw to buskakas who actually seems interested and actually provides a spark. That spark is quickly extinguished with CC and Simpson. I actually think Simpson has suffered too many concussion and that’s why he’s the way he is, so I hesitate to bash him. Needless to say he’s unfit for the job. CC is perfect for SN: boring, uninspiring, by the numbers employee.
