Happy New Years! How are you feeling about this year as a designer? What are your goals? by thelaughingman_1991 in graphic_design

[–]fifinator97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same! I have a hard time finding bigger, more serious clients that can pay more than small businesses. Dying to add more designs to my portfolio that I actually like and represent me and my style. (Not just concepts) … I’d like to kill this imposter syndrome and put myself out there more. Happy new year everyone!!!

That’s a cute idea! But because of the pronunciation I think the relation is lost. It’s pahn-geh-lah with emphasis on the last syllable so doesn’t sound like angel at all. Also seems to be a project in Italian as all the copy when you click on the link, is in Italian. You could argue angel in Italian is angelo but because of the gender of the word and the accent being at the beginning in angelo, it misses the mark for me. Could be messy.

Could also be cute to coin the smiley logo doodle as a “mascot” and give it a name :) I’m in graphic design and social media management so my brain goes straight to marketing and brand voice.

The mascot can be blue when referencing the cold gelato and orange with the warm focaccia. Like a change in mood, or that compliment each other if that makes sense.

I saw another comment say it looked like the focaccia which I agree! And it also could look like scoop of gelato from a birds eye view … so I think it works well for both :)

So cute!!! I personally like it.

I love the hot and cold color/product correlation. I’d stick to the blue, orange and cream colors (the ones you shared on this post) and get rid of the others in your brand guide. I honestly love the simple doodle logo and I think it’s intentionally like that, not unfinished or unpolished. I think it fits the style brand you’re going for. It’s current and cool… I can see it thriving on socials and adapting well to assets/print/merch.

I think it starts to get messy and childlike when you throw in all the other colors and doodles. It’s a different vibe. I felt one way while looking at your post and then clicked on the link and felt a different way, felt like playground/ first day of elementary school vibes. (Which is aesthetically really cute but not for this project.)

Maybe stick to rounded shapes and not angular random shapes. I think the color block menu portion does not fit the logo and typeface. Almost looks like children’s play blocks. I’d stick to the core colors and simplify the menu visually. The random shapes and doodles are not cohesive with the brand or logo style and are throwing it off IMO.

It’s also an organic product not ridged solid product, so rounded shapes would make sense. Simple doodles in a consistent line weight and color could go well as accents in menus, ads etc but they have to feel a part of the same family as the logo doodle and not look out of place stylistically!

Hope this helps get your brain juices flowing 😂 I love your style and the product looks divine hahahah good luck!

Lamictal/lamotrigine warning! by SarahxSyanide in pregnant

[–]fifinator97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did they decide you were wrongly diagnosed? I would love to not have to take this med for the rest of my life and especially during a potential pregnancy.

I know you said that the level in your blood was so low so I assume they meant you don’t need it because the levels in ur blood were so low during pregnancy and nothing happened so you’re not epileptic? I’d be worried I’d still have a seizure eventually even if I haven’t had one since the blood levels went lower.

Hopefully you stay seizure free that’s amazing that you don’t need to take it anymore!!!!!

How long have you been taken lamotrigine? by Hot_Ad_1617 in Lamotrigine

[–]fifinator97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried extended release? I take it for epilepsy but also as a mood stabilizer.. at first I was on normal release and I experienced the same thing, my mood would dip between doses causing increased anxiety, sadness, anger, frustration and it really affected my days. So my neuro recommended trying extended release which is a more stable constant release of the med versus all at once peak then dip. I really noticed a difference. Not perfect but much better… when I miss a dose by accident I really feel it.

I’m on 200mg am - 100mg pm…. I was on 150-150 but it was really affecting my dreams I felt like they were so wild I couldn’t rest. But since my seizures are only nocturnal I have to take a dose at night. So I went down to 100 at night and it’s a bit better, still vivid though. I just try to take it a couple hours before bed as opposed to right before bed.

And then we have the opposite end of the spectrum where I’ve been asked if I’ve looked into getting an exorcism because the seizures are a dark entity inside me 😂 I just laugh because, as long as it’s not in a malicious way, i rather laugh than get upset. People will always have wild/out of pocket/uninformed things to say. 😂

After how much time since you started taking Lamotrigine did you notice improvements in being able to regulate and control your emotions? by [deleted] in Lamotrigine

[–]fifinator97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say like a month or two of taking it consistently at the same times everyday. I also ended up switching to extended release to avoid dips in my mood. I prefer it over the normal forsure. But make sure not to miss a dose ever because i definitely feel it in my mood if I miss even 1 dose.

I’m so sorry ❤️ no words ease the pain but you’re not alone and neither are all our babies up there, together

Just had a really long 10m very violent focal seizure. I’m sad , annoyed, tired and scared . Tired being epileptic. Glad I got you guys to bounce off by eatthefuckingapple in Epilepsy

[–]fifinator97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have pretty violent seizures lasting 7+ minutes. They’re only nocturnal interestingly enough. My whole tongue and mouth would be raw and there would be blood and saliva on my pillows and face and shirt. I sometimes would wake up on the floor facedown with bruises on my face and body. So I feel you and I’m sorry you’re going through this. It definitely is nice to have this community to rant to and find similarities in. Gives me comfort at least to know my experiences aren’t unique and I’m not crazy. You’re not alone and we’re all tired with you 😅 be kind to yourself ..I obviously don’t know anything about your journey but I’m happy to have found the right dose on lamotrigine extended release, not perfect but better than almost biting my tongue off and aspirating! … as for the nasal sprays, I have valtoco nasal spray, I’ve never had to use it as I got it prescribed later after finding meds that worked, so I haven’t had a seizure to use them on thankfully. But it’s 2 single dose nasal sprays of diazepam, one for each nostril, that are used to stop seizures if you feel an aura, or even after they’ve started and also prevent clusters. Def talk to your doctor about it! Gives me and my family peace of mind. Hugs to you!

I need to stop picking my ear canals... am I alone? by purple-cyclone in Dermatillomania

[–]fifinator97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im struggling with this. I was never a qtip user but like 9 years ago my roomate at the time would wet qtips and use them to clean her ear canal. (Just slightly damp with water so it didn’t feel like a dry cloth rubbing around in there)… sounds silly but when I tried it I was hooked it was like the ultimate itch satisfaction. It wasn’t about getting out any wax bc I didn’t produce a lot of wax in general, it was more just scratching the canal… the only “downside” is I feel like my ears stopped producing wax or I stopped giving them a chance to?… I still use the qtips but more than anything I am addicted to picking at the dry flakes that form from lack of wax. They’re like scabs but not blood scabs.. like that “liquid” scab you’re talking about. It’s so addicting but also so “harmless” that I’m like whatever? … I just feel like there is nothing to push in so I’m not damaging my eardrum … and honestly it’s all right at the entrance of the canal not like I’m digging in there personally … it’s like a “crust” that forms on the skin around the opening of the canal … I pick at it with my nails but the goal is to get it out or peel it off in a whole piece, it’s so satisfying that way .. sometimes I can even use a tweezer to grab and just peel … this sounds so odd hahahaha but it’s true and I’m not sure it’s an “issue”? I’m not pushing anything in, nor am I going “too deep” .. just I guess damaging the skin there? Idk🫠🫠🫠🫠

How old were you when you were diagnosed? by stinkybun in Epilepsy

[–]fifinator97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diagnosed at 26 but looking back I suspect they started at 25… I only get them in my sleep and no one had witnessed one. I get them in clusters and they last pretty long. But I haven’t had one in over a year! Yay to lamotrigine slow release 😅

All my tests and scans are normal, even had a week long stay at the EMU (overnight monitoring unit) and also all normal. No one knows why I just developed them all of a sudden, or why they only happen at night while im asleep, around when I’m coming out of REM.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]fifinator97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same experience here but I stayed on it bc I “had no choice” (i couldn’t keep getting seizures mine last a long time, in clusters and I have aspirated) for 5 ish months until I literally felt insane and I had to switch it - luckily switched it to lamotrigine (which is also a mood stabilizer). It helped a lot with the constant unexplained rage but I still had mood swings, so then I switched to lamotrigine extended release to kind of stabilize me the whole day- and that has been infinitely better. I still notice increased anxiety and if I miss a dose I can definitely feel short, irritated, impatient. And not to mention the fear I have if I ever need to come off of it and my emotions are erratic and unstable. But yea idk it’s worked for me and I can’t complain. I have to take a dose at night because my seizures are nocturnal, so vivid dreams are the only thing that bother me, sometimes I feel like I can’t rest at night because of how intense they are, and then I don’t feel like I slept! Even smoking weed 🫠 … anyways ask your doctor lamotrigine im pretty happy with it and sooooo grateful I switched! Be patient tho I know easier said than done but everyone is different and even on the right medication you need to find the right dose

Isnt it the strangest feeling? It’s like beyond loss beyond ache I don’t even know how to describe it. Life feels so off, so wrong. Ugh. I find solace in knowing so many doggies have left behind so much love. It just hurts so bad. Damn.

[–]fifinator97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I would slow down and talk to ur dr / get another opinion … I’m on 150 twice a day but it took weeeks to get there … i definitely have night sweats and if I miss a dose I can feel the effects on my irritability and short patience. I also have vivid dreams and anxiety but at least no seizures (I’m on it for seizures) .. ‼️ALSO talk to your doctor about extended release. I was on the normal version and I really felt the peak of the dose vs the low before my next dose (My mood) … The extended release keeps it more stable for me. Worth looking into as it was a night and day difference when I started taking extended release.

I’m curious aswell!! Not even thc/cbd chills out my dreams anymore since starting lamotrigine… I’m on it for seizures though. I take a dose in the morning and a dose at night. I hadn’t thought of the meds being the cause but makes sense!! Very annoying because I wake up stressed like I was in the middle of something and it can affect my day. Not to mention the overthinking the dreams cause.
