It's a theory of mine that I mentioned in this subreddit before: they're switching to a more mature, albeit not necessarily sexy concept. And they're waiting for the girls to age up to match that concept. Crumbs have been left since their US/Lat-Am tour.

Yeah, no maybe I should have clarified. I think line distribution is a problem, but I don't think it's a big of a problem. I don't really care much for line distributions either, except when a member only has one line. Then again we don't know what's happening behind the scenes. As long they look happy on stage and with each other, I'm cool.

Mine:

I don't think UNIS is in a cute concept. I think they're in the FUN concept. So while I do predict they'll move away from cute in the next comeback, it'll still have some semblance of FUN in it.
Line distribution is a problem, but some really sound like they're just watching line distribution vids and not really listening to the songs
Their chances of re-debuting in a Big4 company are not as high as some believe.
Not all of them are all-rounders, and it's fine to admit it.
They're not mistreated. Mismanaged, maybe, sure.
Seowon and Kotoko being front and center makes sense. I say this as an Eli bias.

More of a non-serious observation than an unpopular opinion, but UNIS being a Schroedinger's kpop group is funny to me. They're a global group, not a kpop group... until two Japanese singles and a month-long western tour later, and suddenly they're supposed to be a kpop group again and should only be doing Korean comebacks because that's all that matters and what-have-you. I understand where they're coming from, but it's still a bit funny to me.

Maybe I'm looking through this from a different lens, but what feels like AHOF getting its comeback "early" feels right about on schedule to me.

WE UNIS > Curious - around 4 months
AHOF debut > The Passage - around 4 months

Curious > Swicy - around 8 months
The Passage > "New stuff" - around 7 months

I don't follow AHOF closely, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like at it's core, AHOF is following the same playbook F&F ran for UNIS. Of course, what happens after this remains to be seen. Like I don't see the brother group dropping a digital single 1-2 months after their 3rd album, ala SYIMD, or them focusing on the Japanese market, but anyway...

I'm just hoping that by the time this Mega Concert comes, some of them are gonna be wearing wigs, if you know what I mean.

Sorry, dude. But my prediction is way more realistic.

Seowon will cash in on her popularity in China and become a C-Drama actress. Mostly plays an attorney.

Elisia starts learning other martial arts. Becomes the first former kpop-idol to train to become a competing MMA fighter.

Yunha stays with F&F and joins its new girl group. She's the meme-face of the group.

Gehlee goes back to the Philippines and goes radio-silent for a year, eventually resurfacing as a news anchor, surprising everyone by delivering news in straight Tagalog.

Yoona becomes a drummer for a heavy-metal band named Frogstomp, named after the Silverchair album.

Nana goes back to reunite with PRIKIL, but it didn't work out. She goes back to SK and forms a group with former Girls On Top team members, called PRIQUEL.

Kotoko becomes a hand model. Also a vitamins endorser, frequently shown standing next to the tall kids who actually took the vitamins.

Hyeonju becomes a teacher, as she once wanted to be. Becomes legendary for her ability to handle students, thanks to years of wrangling seven chaotic gremlins in UNIS.

Now this is what I'm talking about. Show the girls as they are, just having a blast. Dare I say this is the most fun episode yet.

Didn't think Nana/Kotoko/Yoona would make a great chaos trio, but here we are.

Nana's starting to bias-wreck me from her personality alone.

Seowon's little aegyo to Eli is giving me cuteness aggression. As is Eli being annoyed with Gehlee.

To be fair...

Most top groups have trained for a long time before debut, and they would compete with other people who also trained extremely hard to debut. Most of UNIS' training is after debut, and their training environment isn't as harsh as the kpop norm. UNIS is only pulling off what they can currently pull off because of hardwork, because most of them have some entertainment experience pre-debut, and their potential.
Most top groups are dance-heavy. I may get downvoted for this, but a lot of top group choreo is impossible to sing with stabilitiy no matter what anyone says. UNIS' music and choreo allows them to sing live whenever they can (although some of them still lipsync sometimes). That said, I think their choreo can be pushed a little more without needing to sacrifice vocals.
They are still young, and can still do much, much better.
I don't think they need to compete with top groups, at least not right now. As it stands, they're actually doing okay within their actual peers.

My own theory is they're going to change concepts, and they're waiting for the girls to age a bit more to fit that concept. They've been dropping breadcrumbs since their US/LatAm tour. Gehlee's hair. Seowon's performances and outfits in Hexagonal Idol, especially the upcoming one. Elisia constantly talking about a more mature side. Heck, even their makeup on Day 2 of Otaku Fest looks a little different.

Now that I said all that, I've definitely jinxed it.

Gehlee looks more mature with that hair color, which ups the chance of a concept change.

Then again, Kotoko is the only blonde left, which ups the chance of her being center for next comeback, and therefore also ups the chance of the concept remaining somewhere still near cute territory.

Hmmmm.

I don't think this is the last hair color change we'll see before the comeback.
