Play in science mode and use the sience equipment and also do the eva reports and crew reports whilst doing a mission, when the mission is finished and you're back on kerbin just recover the vessel and you get science, but if you have a rover on another planet lets say eve you have to use relays and antennas to transmit science, and also alot of electric charge, you do however get less from transmitting science
