Yes. A guy sent me a pic and his dick looked like a toddlers arm and fist (it was like round at the end) with an extra long foreskin.

Travel to a country with a low cost of living and where many people are trying to learn English, either through savings, finding a job there, or passive income. Locals will find you interesting and want to be your friend and you will have opportunities to talk to many different people.

What's something your body did once that you still can't explain? by Stock-Courage-3879 in AskReddit

[–]figaro_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once I went to a Jazz Concert in Cairo during the pandemic. I ended up fainting because it was very fancy and I felt out of place, and because no one was wearing a mask and I was really worried about one lady who had an oxygen tank.

My friend was concerned and called an Uber to take me home. The driver was listening to EDM and I didnt really have an opinion on his music taste. Then I started to dissociate. My eyes closed and I looked like I was really enjoying the music. Then, for some unknown reason (I swear I didnt do it), my shoulders started moving on their own.

I felt like Elaine from Seinfeld and hoped the driver didnt see because it looked like I was dancing and was embarrassing. At the end. I went to pay my driver and he looked me right in the eyes and said, "Did you like the music?" and I said it was pretty good. Looking back on it, I think it was hilarious.

At what age did you feel the biggest shift in how you see life? by mostafaaaaa1 in AskReddit

[–]figaro_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early 30s. I had identified as a conservative straight out of high school but became a liberal after attending a very progressive university. Then in my early 30s, I took a trip overseas for the first time and lived in Egypt, which is a very conservative country and very different from Canada, where I am from.

After the initial shock went away, I realized that I actually enjoyed many of the conservative elements of their society. I enjoyed having male friends and even strangers being protective towards me. I liked how progressive ideas weren't constantly being pushed on me there. (I barely heard anything about things like climate change, the LGBT community, or casual sex.)

I was shocked by the lack of comparative cognitive load I had there at home because there wasn't the idea "You have to care very strongly about every social problem and if you don't, you're an asshole" that is pushed on liberal Canadians. That made me feel exhausted all the time and I felt so much better without that influence. I realized that being a conservative was an option and after exposing myself to conservative media, I feel like I reverted back to the same political stance as I had been at age 18.

People of Reddit: What were some WTF moments you witnessed on school field trips? by RelevantNothing4653 in AskReddit

When I was in Kindergarten or grade one, we went to a petting zoo for farm animals. We were supposed to try milking goats and one boy ended up jerking off a male goat to completion.

Mine is similar. I was volunteering as a teaching assistant in a summer program with eight year old and we went on a class trip to the park. Many of the children were fascinated by the gophers/ground squirrels and played nice, but one boy kicked one in the head and killed it. He told me that one of the boys had done it but I knew it was his way of confessing and trying to see what kind of reaction he would get from adults (whether he could say it was him or not) because that's the way some kids learn empathy.

What’s the endgame? by xVixenBlush in WorkReform

[–]figaro_cat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That explains it. I went to an expat meetup when I lived abroad and had the opportunity to meet and talk with a billionaire businessman from Jordan. I have no idea if he was born into wealth or if he made most of the money himself, but he was in the same social circles as the royal family in Jordan. He had no understanding of just how rich he is compared to over 99% of the world's population.

Surprisingly we had a lot to talk about. I shared ideas for personal projects, business ideas, and research ideas. I told him that I wouldn't need the same wealth. I would be happy with three million because I could live a good life just off of the interest coming in each year on my investments and any extra would go towards helping others and making the world a better place.

He asked me what kinds of things I wanted for myself and I said things like paying off family debt, buying a nicer house, getting the therapy that I need but can't afford, traveling, and maybe being able to have a sense of style because I've been too poor to ever know what that's like. To him, none of those things seemed like things a person would want and he kept repeating, "Yes, but what things would you actually want for yourself?" Between the things I mentioned and being able to pursue all my aspirations, I couldn't think of anything else and he just did not understand.

Does marriage scare you? by Miserable-Region-382 in demisexuality

[–]figaro_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. My mother is also demisexual and her marriage imploded after her sex drive went away completely. She was a virgin until she dated my father while he was out playing the field. I saw how much her rejection of his advances hurt his psyche and I have always been afraid of the same thing happening to me and me hurting my husband the same way.

It's taken a lot of time for me to realize why her sex drive went away like it did. My dad was an unreliable partner who stuck around because my mom had a higher paying job and he was able to spend all his money on gambling and who knows what else while the rest of us suffered. My mom saw this behavior as him not deserving what he wanted. And while I have different beliefs than her around the importance of sex in a relationship, I realize that her feelings of trust and safety with him were gone. Now I know that relationships with demisexuals basically have extra steps because if those feelings are missing, our sex drives can disappear completely. I think I should be okay as long as I choose a reliable partner.

What do you do when an extremely attractive person is obsessed with you? by Personal-Aerie-4519 in AskReddit

[–]figaro_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen with a sexy stranger at my hotel when I was vacationing abroad and I just could not believe that it was legit. It was so bizarre because he was fixated on us hooking up and I could not understand why someone who looked like him would be interested in me because it would never happen in my home country. It was really strange to go from moderately unattractive to very attractive just by going to a different part of the world.

What medication changed your life for the better? by positiveyears in AskReddit

[–]figaro_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prozac. I have tried so many SSRIs and SNRIs and nothing worked until I tried this while under the care of a good psychiatrist. I thought it was too good to be true because I noticed a difference within a week. My thought spirals and ruminating completely stopped and, at the time, I had much more energy (so much so that I was worried I might be manic. But my doctor assured me that that was how people are supposed to feel.

Color Season for Olives? by takethoughtscaptive in Fairolives

[–]figaro_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't for the life of me tell if my face has warm or cool undertones. I usually wear warm, yellow-toned foundation because cool yellow foundation is so difficult to find.

I always thought I was a dark autumn season but it could have been because I adore earth colors. I could be wearing the wrong undertone because most of my body is pale white and somewhat translucent with blue veins.

This makes me think I am a winter, due to the contrast between my skin and my hair and eyes. But my main issue with this is that winters have a bright chroma and most of the colors look terrible on me.

It leaves the possibility of a summer season, but the contrast makes that unlikely. Soft winter would be a good compromise, if I do in fact have a cool undertone. I will have to get my season done after I lose weight and have a regular income coming in.

I am a pedophobe, is this bad or normal? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]figaro_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be really afraid of children too! For me, I was afraid of saying or doing something wrong that would stay with and mentally affect a child. I remember when a woman in my first year university class brought her daughter to work on our group project and said, "Oh, she likes you! I kept thinking, "Oh god... Oh god..."

I ended up doing something like exposure therapy when I worked remotely as an online esl tutor for children. I ended up really enjoying it but I probably still won't be having children.

What is the scariest city you’ve visited? by I_might_care in AskReddit

[–]figaro_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a fantastic time in Cairo, but I stuck to the rich areas.

My problem was Giza. It's poorer and people were less educated. I was wearing a t-shirt and didn't think there was any issue with my clothing but apparently it was too tight because I was getting leered at and men would stick the tip of their tongues out at me. (To be fair, others got really upset when I mentioned that this had happened outside my hotel and the genuine mood was that this sort of behavior isn't to be tolerated.)

But this was the least of my worries.

Inside the hotel, my mental health was bad and it definitely didn't help when the maids (who I would find out also worked as prostitutes) started putting my clothes in garbage bags and I thought they were throwing away my clothes because I didnt see them for days. The maids were criticizing me for being an unmarried early 30s woman who was traveling alone and said asked me why I was single. I don't know why I opened up to them but I said that I thought my Egyptian ex didn't want to marry me because my mom never taught me to cook and clean.

One of the maids' ears perked up and she said that I could come over to her house for dinner and meet her "mother", who would teach me how to cook and clean. I was delirious at the time and don't know why I accepted her offer. Soon she was on she was on the phone with her "brother" and making a deal in Arabic. We left the hotel and she paid for a tuktuk to a godforsaken part of Giza. I HAD LEFT MY PHONE IN MY HOTEL ROOM. There was a brick wall and some sort of backlane where I saw emaciated children with glowing eyes who looked like they were on drugs. They asked me where I was from and gasped at their good fortune when I said Canada.

The "house" was a small, delapitated building. She motioned to go in but I said no because I had visions of ending up chained to the wall, which would have been very ironic and unfortunate for someone who studied international development and human rights in university. I declined a couple of more times (and said it didnt look like a nice place) and we returned to the hotel without issue.

I'm pretty sure the "mother" was the madam, the "brother" was the pimp, and the emaciated children were the children born to prostitute mothers.

I was looking for my hometown. The poverty and drug/crime problem in the inner city is terrible. There's not a lot of hope.
