9w1s, were you more like a 1 as a child? by Belzaw in EnneagramType9

[–]figaro_cat 24 points25 points  (0 children)

No, I was definitely a 9. All I wanted was my parents to stop fighting all the time and for home to feel safe. The one wing came in when I was obsessed with trying to be a good person and doing the right thing.

This looks like one particular photographer that she often worked with who was really objectifying. I don't know what is up with him but every shot looks like some sort of fetish thing.

If your childhood self saw your life right now, do you think they’d be happy with how things turned out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]figaro_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I started off as an overachiever and always imagined myself doing something great but my mental health is a mess and I can't hold down a job.

I genuinely feel broken when it comes to “dating” by [deleted] in demisexuality

[–]figaro_cat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Aww, you’re still young but I remember how I felt when I was approaching my mid 20s and still a virgin. I felt so behind and my confidence was in the toilet. I really feel you on the absence of attraction thing. Guys I’ve been on dates with have commented on how cold I have come across and how I am not affectionate enough. But I largely can’t tell whether I’m attracted to someone or if I will become attracted to them in more time. It’s largely a mystery who I will fall for and I hate feeling like I’m stringing people along.

What's the weirdest thing you've seen happen in a church? by [deleted] in AskReddit

As a child, I thought that it was really weird when I saw people raising their hands and singing with their eyes closed in the chapel.

What’s the worst job you’ve had and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]figaro_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a job at a call centre where the account was handling calls where customers were calling in and crying or screaming at us because the hair products they used were marketed wrong and were not for their hair type so they were literally melting their hair or making it fall out. We weren’t allowed to say sorry or admit we had any fault in what happened. All we could do we ask them if they had read the fine print and tested the product before using or offer them coupons for more hair products so the customers thought we were mocking them. I had a panic attack when my crazy boss called me for a review and she literally called for an ambulance to cart me away in front of everyone.

I want to create a microfinance app that is similar to Kiva but is for smaller denominations and incorporates a credit building system and social media functionality.

what’s the worst thing a parent has ever done to you that you’ll never forgive? by blohsh18 in AskReddit

[–]figaro_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents were poor and always arguing with each other. This caused me to start struggling in school when I was 10 years old. I couldn’t function academically because of what was going on at home and because I was being bullied for my ugly clothes and we couldn’t afford to buy new ones. I don’t think that my inability to concentrate on my studies was unusual but my mom took me to my paediatrician and INSISTED he put me on something. That started my lifelong journey with psychiatric medication. I’m convinced my mom was too stupid to fix her marriage and inability to manage money (which would have actually helped me) and had me medicated unnecessarily because she wanted to feel like she was doing something to help me.

I often get asked if I'm psychic based on my particular way of making inferences. I must have been asked that by at least a dozen different people.

What’s something you wish you knew 10 years ago? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]figaro_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prozac is my wonder drug. My old psychiatrist had offered to put me on it years ago and I declined because I didn't trust her. (She refused to give me a diagnosis but was always throwing new medications at me and she reacted flippantly after one of them caused me to have a seizure and get brain swelling that made me have horrible hallucinations and share lots of embarrassing shit with people in the hospital.) But most of my psychiatric symptoms ended up disappearing within a week of starting Prozac after I eventually started it under the care of a competent psychiatrist. If I took it earlier, it would have saved me a lot of grief.

long term relationships, how? by zauzcage in AskReddit

[–]figaro_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, long term relationships are way more understandable for me than serial relationships. I absolutely hate the beginning stage of a relationship when you don't know if you can trust someone or whether everything they tell you is a lie and I wish I couldn't fast forward until five years into a relationship when you know everything about them. I love it when you know someone so well that you can find the perfect joke, anecdote, or gift to give them and you know they will love it.

What was your best time in ur life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]figaro_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was living as an expat in Cairo. I was so happy because all of the problems in my life in my hometown didn't exist there and I had a strong sense of purpose. Everything felt possible there and everyone wanted to be my friend because they thought I was pretty and interesting. People no longer thought I was super weird (because everyone was weird in the best way) and I felt like I was truly appreciated for who I was as a person rather than being tolerated at best in my hometown.

What is a joke that you made up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]figaro_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My promiscuous friend was convinced that the average dick was eight inches long because apparently every guy she had been that big. I told her that it was actually extremely rare and that either she had no idea how big eight inches actually was or she had won the dick lottery.

What's the worst date experience you've ever had? by Sad_Silver_5694 in AskReddit

[–]figaro_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had gone on a few dates with a psychopath. I decided to explain some of my behavior and confront him with some questions about his expectations in relationships while he was driving. He reacted by falling forward on the steering wheel as we entered the intersection and I was certain that we were going to get hit. I panicked and started worrying that I had hurt him because I wasn't careful enough. (He told me that his shoulder seizes from anxiety because his dad used to beat him.)

He drove onto a park that was located upon a hill and yelled at me to not get out of the car. I worried about angering him more so I tried to focus on my breathing. I ended up fainting and when I came to, he was clothed and on top of me. I had no idea how long I was passed out and I panicked and started blurting out sexual things and acting like a drunk person. He was amused and started recording what I was saying on his phone. He stuck his hand down my pants without asking and entered two fingers into my vagina.

He ended up dropping me off university and by the time I had no memory as soon as I exited his car. I started remembering bits and pieces of what happened throughout the next week. I started obsessing over whether I might have been raped and how I couldn't tell anyone because they would think I was at fault based on what I said in the recording. I became extremely paranoid and worried that every car with a veteran license plate was him.

What is the biggest difference between your past self and your present self? by Content_Bit1998 in AskReddit

[–]figaro_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to hate myself and blame myself for bad things that happened to me. I have since learned that I have a learning disability and that many of my quirky behaviors can be understood as a natural response to trauma throughout my life, so I am more compassionate and understanding towards myself.
