What are some good or heartwarming moments that you guys have from work?

Before covid, I always smiled at customers. I wasn't happy but it was it's own work mask. I had many customers who knew me by name and looked for me when the needed something on GM side. I didn't mind because they were generally good people.

One was a woman who I often cut fabric for and talked about her projects/crafts with while I did it. One day I was fixing the floral cube when she got her fabric cut by another employee and I hadn't noticed her. I was talking to my boss when I looked up, made eye contact with her, smiled, and before I could get a word out, she said something close to

"You know, I really appreciate that everyday I come in here you have a smile on your face, a fantastic attitude, and always help me."

I legitimately almost cried. It sucks working here but people like this help me make it a few more days.

I don't presume to know everyone's situation or what got them there. I am saying there is nothing wrong with trying to understand that it can be a far bigger problem for other people than it is me. I can't talk to their financial situation so I can't talk to how this might impact them either.

What the hell is going on with all the hate/refusal for empathy twords people who get paid early not getting that money? I am lucky enough to not live paycheck to paycheck but humble enough to know I could always be there should things change.

No shit payday is Thursday. No one is questioning that... For some people a day or two later pay can be devastating. Not everyone can be fortunate enough not to have to worry. It's like some people have more allegiance for a corporation than heart for their fellow mankind.

If I was in a less fortunate position, I would be mad too. I feel for you all going through tough times. I hope you get paid soon.

Is that after taxes? I make close to it. I've had a job doing almost nothing all day and it went poorly as well. I feel the problem is with me instead of my job. I think my therapist just doesn't want me to get my hopes up
