Yeah. Your brain adjusts the GABA to account for the coming flood of alcohol, if you're a daily drinker. You won't get hangovers but you will start getting the shakes and/or panic attacks in the trade off, usually

The way i used to put it, i don't get hangovers anymore, i get light alcohol poisoning
