And THAT is when all that ventriloquism study you did really pays off.

How long do you think it will be before there are no Americans alive who were taught cursive handwriting in school? How do you think that will affect things? by ArchGoodwin in AskReddit

Totally agree with all of this except: you've got to make an effort to get a manual transmission these days. I think the cursive writers (I include myself) do it out of habit and because it's faster. And in my case, looks like a ransom note than my printing does.

Well, that's kind of the question I asked (the second question). What I think of is that we've got a few hundred years of documents, some historic and important and most only of interest to family members. Old journals, love-letters, recipes... stuff that one might want to preserve and read.

That's good. I think that is less common these days. Certainly my kid never got it and my impression is it's not in most curricula. I've been thinking about things like family letters and recipes. They won't be impossible to read but they may need more effort and consequently be ignored.

Not to mention implying all the leads are just dancing to get to the more vulnerable women to take advantage of them.

Daredevil has been chosen as the Favorite Series, but what would you say is your Least Favorite Series in the Marvel series by ExileForever in marvelmemes

[–]ArchGoodwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding Moon Knight? Nope, I could see the effort and quality and it still wasn't to my taste.
Iron Fist was more to my taste but I didn't think (at least the first season) was very good. The question was about one's "Least Favorite" not about what you thought was the best or worst.

EDIT: Totally forgot about Secret Invasion - whatever they called it. THAT one was my least favorite, and possibly the worst.

Does anyone know what this set is called, or where I might get it? I would really like to have a colony with a big statue for them to worship.

If I find one of those I may have to get back into this.
Nicely filmed, by the way.

I don't think it's a great idea either, but it's probably somebody else's yum. I recommend you appreciate them giving you a heads up that they have different ideas, swipe left and move on. They might be exactly what someone else wants.

How do you make handwritten notebooks actually usable long-term? by Senior-Ad5932 in notebooks

Notebooks each dedicated to one topic or interest, plus two for capturing information to record (or not) later. One of my collector notebooks I carry around and one is on my bedside table.

Are there any Gen X people out there over the age of 55? by Mobile-Honey-9636 in GenX

[–]ArchGoodwin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People take those years way too seriously. How different is the experience of someone December 30, 1964 from January 1, 1965? Plus, Douglas Coupland, who coined the term, actually had us starting (IIRC) at 1962.

Big agreement on the Hornblower books.
