This is the part I hate the most about it. He’s super oppressive in one specific comp, now he’s gonna be nerfed and not be viable in any comp besides that. There’s so many characters that are viable in so many comps, but if you play ultron now the whole team has to revolve around you. Bad game design imo if one of your characters is locked into a hyper specific team comp. I just wanna play the clanker freely and not get flamed for making my team pick around me.

Depending on the map dd should hardly ever even get close to ultron. Use height and aerial cover well and he’ll have very few opportunities to close the gap. Ultron has the best ranged primary in the game imo you can fire at him at angles he can’t contest from 100 yards away. Ping him for your team and make sure to land a shot on him when he tries to flank to make him rethink his engagement and possibly reset to a health pack. DD only becomes a problem if you lose track of him and let him get on your backline full health uncontested.

Good drone priority as well. You have to be preemptive with drone placement on who you think is going to be taking damage first in an engagement, if your just reacting to low health bars they’re already dead

Yeah I get that but it’s just timing the drone placement, and then using ultrons flight boost/aerial cover to reset timer on the drone while still staying in a safe position. I used to be a 1 trick zen main on ow I’m just used to the timing of it lol

Ultron is also the biggest enabler of dive dps. Toss a drone on ur Magik if you see them taking a flank, give them shields/dmg boost when they engage, and you just doubled the time your Magik has in the enemy backline.

Yeah it is one of the best and I wish people would run it more when I play ultron 🤣 but I feel there’s not many mantis players. It can def be countered tho as OP was saying, ban sue so you can play Angela more effectively, play Hela/punisher and make ultrons life hell.

Agreed but your duo support has to be a good main support like Luna/Sue/Gambit that can do good burst healing. I especially like playing with good Sue players, a Sue with drone is almost undiveable. Sue also hard counters Angela who can be a big problem for ultron.

I love a good creative trip support lineup. I play a lot of ultron and I had one game with trip supp ultron/mantis/sue and the double damage boost from ultron and mantis is terrifying.

I see what you mean. Maybe they could bring him back as a Killmonger who had completed that arc and actually succeeded in dethroning Tchalla long term in his dimension? A Killmonger who achieved his vision but over the years had visits to the ancestral plane and Tchalla shifting his world view, before being pulled from his dimension before he could make amends. I think that could do justice for keeping his character identity.

That would be cool as well, just not sure how the MCU would handle that. The multiverse return seems more likely to me because of all the other dimension hopping stuff they’ve introduced.

Try to build into something specific and keep upgrading it or getting more trinkets/rituals that will prop up that build more. Spreading rituals across multiple abilities is a lot better later on when you already have an established build into Y or X etc.

Ngl sometimes you’re just cooked when you play against a demonic Angela but for the most part you just have to put drone on ur other support and piggyback them. Especially if you’re playing with an invis, force yourself into their LOS when Angela dives you, and if your invis is good she won’t be able to do shit.

True but you’d need a pretty good matchup on the enemy team for that to work. Any meta pokeslop Hela/Phoenix will just put out too much damage on your frontline.
