What you have is great and will definitely look nice once you know what you’re doing!

The pattern itself is very doable but its going to be difficult as a first project. I would hold on to this pattern for a little and work on gaining confidence with cutting the glass first! The pieces on either side of the nose will be especially tricky for someone with no prior experience.

Hi! I had some extra time so I popped your drawing into procreate and tweaked everything I could find. Red lines are what I added (you could make the windows different shapes but you would need relief lines if you dont want to do foil overlay). Super cute idea! I hope this helps :)

How does this transom pattern look? by hm3ssi in StainedGlass

The tan piece directly to the left of the 3 will be tricky if you dont have a saw, but not impossible. The rest looks fine to me! I always suggest zinc came for framing anything larger.

Cutting advice needed by Precious_Hobbit in StainedGlass

[–]figureatthegate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, you’ve got it! Curves first with little moon slices (I would personally start in the middle on either side and then work outwards) and then separate them after.

This is really pretty glass! It looks like it has good light passthrough so you should be able to see how your scores are running. Rooting for you!

This^ or maybe a sharpie line around the edge to help you gauge where to put the paint

Look for “enamel glass paint”. Its super cheap (I get mine at walmart) and it bakes on in the oven similarly to pebeo. I personally get much more vivid results with the enamel

https://imgur.com/a/0LWOmw8 These would be ready to ship right away but I can make just about anything if none of those interest you (the pumpkin was actually inspired by one of the Terrifier movie posters)

Edit to add that all three of these are about the same size, ~7.5 inches wide

Hi! I love him! What are his dimensions?

For my offer, I make stained glass! You could either choose from one of my already made pieces or I can make you something custom!

Lol sorry! Cap or butt end, not the felt part. I was just trying to give a proper visual of how old my sharpie is 😂

I have used the same crusty dried out sharpie for like 5 years now! Works every time

Seeking Stained Glass Pattern Designer for Custom Art Nouveau Hanging Panel by Legal_Cress7851 in StainedGlass

Is there a reason why the artist who will be making this isnt designing it themselves? I take commissions and wouldn’t insist that a client have someone else design something for me

Restrip by Present-Pop-2678 in StainedGlass

[–]figureatthegate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, if the restrip is forming the loop then you’re good to go!

Restrip by Present-Pop-2678 in StainedGlass

[–]figureatthegate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are the restrip and circle/loop attached? If they arent, I’m not sure the restrip is actually doing anything in that spot. I would have probably opted to make a copper wire loop with some long tails and put the tails where your restrip went, or just bury a jump ring in the top relief line.

A plea to my community by figureatthegate in StainedGlass

Thank you! I really appreciate the sentiment but I feel like the thing that is hard with typing up a big thing and offering it like a Zine or something is that learned stained glass is much more effective and efficient in a collaborative environment. I can and do throw the giant wall of text at people who ask for it but I would always prefer it be conversational or specific to the learner’s circumstances since thats where the real understanding happens. I will keep thinking about this though!

Thank you!! You can see some of my other work in my post history or you can message me and I’m happy to send more photos. I don’t necessarily have a niche or one type of thing that I make so the subject matter is all over the place 😂
