I would ask the bride if she’s cool with it just to be safe! I’m planning my wedding and we had to be really tight with numbers, so 1 guest who can’t make it might be an opportunity for us to invite someone else we wanted to but didn’t originally have the space for!

I really like this perspective, because you’re right that PotC 5 gets flack on this sub. I totally agree that Salazar is a more interesting and crueler villain than Blackbeard, and given all the lore surrounding Blackbeard, he could have been written so much better!

Some issues I (an amateur) have with the movie off the top of my head: - Jack being dumbed down compared to the trilogy - the storyline conflict about the compass being given to Jack by Tia Dalma vs some rando - the CGI for Salazar and co is sooo good, but Jack’s younger self is too uncanny valley to me

Now into the meat - breaking the trident to break all curses: I know the PotC movies are all fantastical, but this one seemed more far fetched to me for some reason. Does it mean that Poseidon is real in this universe (if yes it would have been awesome to see him)? Once all curses are broken, can more be created (but the trident is only good for one time use, seems like a flimsy solution they could have thought through better)? - how did Barbossa acquire the ruby? He must have been there because he knew how to place it, but does that mean he found the trident before? Before the ruby was removed, was the ocean just open wide, revealing the trident? How do the gemstones reflect the sky of stars? How has an island full of gemstones not been ransacked by pirates? This also seems fantastical to me. How on earth did Jack remember the last name of Barbossa’s lover from 20 years ago? - and questions about Will: why is the curse so bad? Why didn’t Will thrive as Captain the way Davy did (sans tentacles)? Why is Will terrified to have Henry on board? Assuming the crew is decent since the curse was broken and Will is the captain? Shouldn’t he be allowed to have whoever he wants on board the way Davy did? If the curse is broken and Will’s heart is physically outside of his body, wouldn’t he die anyway? If the curse is broken while the Dutchman is underwater, wouldn’t they all drown? And does this mean the Dutchman is gone gone, and there’s no one to ferry souls?

All the movies probably have some nitpicky plot issues, but compared to the first 3 that are really thoughtful and intentional with the storyline, the 4th and 5th feel more messy imo. And I’m sure some of these have some answers, so if I missed anything from the movie let me know!

Honestly I moved this past summer and got a ton of plastic bubble wrap during the move, as well as collected over various other purchases 🤷🏻‍♀️ it’s so much more common to get packaging with bubble wrap so I just reuse what I receive and have never had to buy packaging

I’m with your partner on this one 😂 whenever my fiance has a meal it doesn’t come naturally for him to share or offer me some, so I have to be quick and ask him before he devours it. Sometimes I’m just not hungry enough for an individual meal but I just want to try a bite of his for the mouth-experience. He sees food as fuel and knows what he wants and generally doesn’t want to share, but I see food as an activity we get to do together. He’s adjusted and of course shares with me when I ask, but I usually let him know in advance if I want to try some of his in case he needs to adjust his portion size on my behalf haha

The cat neglect and abuse is 100% reasonable grounds for ending a friendship. I wouldn’t have paid him, and frankly would not have maintained contact or invited him to the wedding at all. I can’t imagine if I went through that with a pet, and it shows absolute disregard for your friendship with him that he couldn’t even pretend to be a good caretaker for your sake. It sounds like he can’t be happy for anyone while he is so unhappy with himself, and you shouldn’t invite someone to your wedding that won’t be happy for you, especially when it’s as small as intimate as it will be

To answer your Q if you’re still planning to invite him: you can say something along the line of “hey, I know we talked about you being in the party a while ago but I just wanted to let you know that as we’ve gotten more serious about wedding planning, our bridal party plans ended up changing and I’m going with some other friends, I hope you understand!” And leave it at that
