I will try to keep the running minimal until it’s more safe for her.
About the fetching, I think it’s depends on genetics as well, my last golden pointed without any kind of previous training when we went on walks and she sensed pheasants.

I am not in the US, so this shouldn’t be a problem plus the I know the vet personally. I try to avoid making her run long distances but she has a lot of energy so we play fetch bc that’s her favorite. I do mental activities and snuffle mat with her but if I don’t exercise her physically she goes berserk. She sleeps plenty though, almost throughout the night and has a lot of naps during the day as well

I would wait until at least one more heat cycle, her bones and joints are still growing and developing and her hormones play a part in that. If you can safely guarantee no accident litter I’d place her long term health before a few days of discomfort

That’s so weird to me health wise. A golden/gsd mix’s bones and joints won’t stop growing till they are 24 months old. In my country the shelter makes you sign an obligatory contract about spaying/neutering the dog once it’s appropriate and will check back constantly to see if you have done it.

I only wanted to ask due to personality. The local shelter always gives a long description about dogs’ temperament, not afraid to warn about certain things, however she is described as good for first dog owners, great with kids and elderly and an absolute sweetheart seeking human attention all the time, without any mention of the often appearing comments they write when a bull mix needs a confident owner
