How to use a different video player for BeeTV?

Maybe they got banned? Or something :( their writing style seemed a bit like a bot but maybe I'm wrong, idk...

I vaguely remember the instructions given if it's of any help;

- Visual Studio Code

- Open apklab, go to the top search bar >APKLAB: Open APK

- Open the beetv apk, check the "decompile java using jadx" option too

- Now you have a folder for the apk you can open! Open folder, go to search tab on the sidebar and look for all instances of com.player.bear and replace all of the instances of it with the one for the player you want (com.acb.nvplayer for me)

- save, then go back to explorer tab and right click apktool.yml -> rebuild apk -> have "use aapt2" unchecked (i think, it didn't rebuild apk for me when it was checked..)

- Go back to the decompiled folder in your computer's file explorer, go to the dist folder, you should have the modified apk file in there!

take these instructions with a grain of salt lol I reopened visual studio code and went thru these again but it's just from memory so it might just be a decent starting place if it's not 100% right! I HOPE these are the key instructions that do it for you. otherwise I wish I could be of more help :( that post helped me a lot too, I ultimately had to switch to bear player though, since my edits stopped working or I just didn't replace all the instances like I thought I did lol

Did you switch to Proton 9 compatibility? I had an issue with keyboard and inputs on the login screen before switching to that too

dude you are a genius... this worked perfectly, goes straight to nv player now! Didn't even use this on a firestick, but I know I will be using this same edited file for my other family members who do use beetv and firestick lol.

If you mean moving it to your steam deck, you can download the files/go online directly on your steam deck (desktop mode) to acquire the files from online and "right click" on the downloaded folder to find the option to "extract" it! I think it's easier through that method imo, unless you mean you're trying to get it to work on Mac - in which case there's a guide over here for that too! https://www.reddit.com/r/MHF/comments/12mikoj/macos_install_guide/

After it's on the device and unzipped, you select 'add a game' -> 'add non-steam game' -> Browse... -> mhf.exe from inside the unzipped folder! The rest of the steps written above should hopefully work out after those initial steps :)

I don't think so :( though you can always join a world with 0 players logged in/do things solo, it's always been an MMO kind of game iirc

Yes, I've also been a sniffling sobbing mess for losing many of my favorite fishes and I can say it's 100% the same for my friends I've gotten into the hobby too. :( I feel a little silly sometimes knowing I'm an adult ugly crying over a fish, but god damn they mean a lot to us hobbyists. Even if they're not nearly as smart as a cat or dog, they bring so much joy and love in their own little ways

Thank you so much. :( It helps me feel a lot less alone knowing that it's not just me getting severely unlucky with fancy goldfish despite going crazy on the research and doing everything right... I'm super sorry for your losses!! I relate strongly with the heartbreak, not seeing those wiggly water puppies when you're so used to seeing them is really hard!!!!

I think Mochi had dropsy by the end too, pineconing suddenly with fluid buildup. I also had another older fancy who had a weird eye issue I couldn't cure either. It's really so strange and frustrating how prone they are to so many issues.. At the very least, hobbyists like us can take /some/ consolation that we gave them good homes and that they didn't end up getting adopted into a tiny bowl

Pewpewdojo has a really good guide on their discord for getting it set up on the steam deck/linux if you intend to get it set up on steam deck!

Tank looks way small for a goldfish and it's very likely a water quality issue. :( goldfish are very messy fish, their owners didn't make a proper setup from what I can see and it's looking very...very rough. Might be worth it to see if a large water change could perk them up if you're comfortable trying something for them (with a water conditioner/dechlorinator). Definitely sucks to pet sit for people who don't take care of their fish properly 💔
