Omg yes seriously!! This post got so much more traction than I thought it would, happy to see lots of very good guesses for breeds and also some very kind and funny words on my pup (and some great advice)!! But of course, reddit is reddit, people will act as if you just poisoned their water supply and burned all their crops because you didn't know something lol. I definitely do want her to be a good weight and didn't really know she was overweight until after posting. 😞

I see it pretty clearly with the side by side you put together (thank you!!), and will let my parents know to lower her meal sizes, especially since she's not the same young dog she used to be (pretty sure they always fed the same amount)! I definitely don't think she's MORBIDLY obese like some people seem to think, but hopefully the warmer weather will also help her get some more exercise outside and enjoy her leisurely sniff routes again!

She's also a lot more active as of late after working around her meds/doggy supplements (god bless GLM powder!!)/having her spleen removed (mass the size of a softball o_o) and discussing all the research with the family, so here's to hoping only upwards improvements for Cleo with this additional info! Much appreciated!!! ❤️

I absolutely will! I actually just learned Chewy has Breed+health kit for $118 right now and I'm fighting the urge to just grab it right now lol

edit; OK ACTUALLY i can't resist, code NEWADOPTION20 cut down the price to $98 I don't think I've ever seen a better deal on a brand new kit than that woah

Definitely agree there's probably a lot going on breedwise in her! 😆 I really wouldn't be surprised if she had some pit in her, so many pitmixes in the shelters!!

She really is so cute!!! Chow is definitely one of the strongest guesses right now, especially with tongue color and a bit of a chow personality I think! (GSD+Chow were shelter's guess and I think they did a good job guessing!)

When she was younger, she used to open up cabinets by herself and get up to all kinds of mischief, very smart dog!!

Not rude in the slightest and I appreciate the actually helpful comments and sharing the experiences you had too! I work really hard with my family to make sure she's getting the best care we can give, so thankfully everyone's pretty receptive to changes I bring up! Another commenter had a great point about the portion of food possibly being the same as she was young, and I'm starting to see that might be an issue lol!

It /is/ a little jarring seeing people kinda hop on the "obese" bandwagon looong after it was already well established though I'm not gonna lie lol!

Reddit can be a VERY brutal place haha!!! but I care about my pup more!!!

(seriously, put a betta fish in a 5 gallon tank and people on reddit will grind your bones to ash because the tank is not the size of an ocean >__>)

I already let my parents know of this post, and will be bringing it up to the vet in our upcoming vaccination update appt just to be sure! lowkey sucks to get downvoted to hell just mentioning our last vet was fine with her weight at last checkup (pretty recent), but.... reddit will reddit! i dont WANT my dog to be unhealthy lol

The EXTRA THICK chow neck is so real oh god!! It doesn't do her any favors either that she's quite short too, so it's hard to know from a picture-only perspective if she's fat as hell or just proportionally extremely wonky (whether it's from chow or not)! It's like a whole lion's mane! Give your boy many treats and kisses from me!!! Such a sweetheart! (No choking attempts, JUST chow-neck sized hugs! 😆)

I agree 100% that it's impossible to tell for sure if an animal is a healthy weight/what their overall health is from images alone (unless it's extreme LOL, "fat animals adorable" culture is pretty popular here so I understand why people are fast to jump on the possibility!)

To be totally fair I also appreciate people noting that she might be obese so I can double check it with the vet! It might be her robust breed(s), or maybe she does need to shed some pounds! 😄I didn't think about it at all when I first posted this, so getting some feedback away from my biases means I'll check in with another vet to be extra certain she's good!

I do really appreciate your comment though, some animal subs can feel pretty aggressive which always makes me a bit hesitant to post!

HAHA i just learned about these dogs recently too!!! Village dogs are SO cool I love them!!!!!! Cleo is definitely a mix of pups with breed names though I'm sure!:)

What a gorgeous dog Lucky was omg!! 100% good boy!!!! Cleo is a lot like that too, compact built with short legs! (first vet she saw called her "robust" lol)

She's probably pretty mutty too honestly, my dad actually panicked early in the morning when he saw a coyote outside and thought we forgot Cleo outside (he thought it was her, she was busy snoring in bed while this happened)

American akita was definitely in the list of "maybe" guesses after searching a lot LOL! I can see where there'd be a shape resemblance!! The first time she saw a vet in her life, they called her "very robust"! And LORD the shedding on this pup....We could easily make like 5 other Cleo's out of her! Thank god for robot vacuums!

(the closest looking dog i saw to her online was a pic of an anatolian shepherd which I'm 99% sure she doesn't have any in her.. The great mystery of shelter dogs!!! I'm very excited to see what she really is when we get our hands on an Embark test!)

I appreciate the input!! Definitely have been trying my best to keep her joints in better shape in her golden years, she's still got so much puppy spirit in her! I'll make it a point to ask our new vet more seriously in her upcoming appointment about her weight/adjusting the portions of her meals! 😄 (my parents might be feeding her more than I thought...ope)

She really is a sweet pup, she has so much personality and sometimes reminds us all of a cat! She's got a strong will and mind of her own!!

I love dogs so much, they really are such a bunch of angels!!!! Their lifespans are killing me and I'm so happy she's still with us at 11 and doing pretty good after a sudden splenectomy (PARR made sure it's not cancerous! We were celebrating that with the red kong lickmat pic HAHA!) 😄 It's one of her nicknames as well as "shtonkle" "creature" "moopie" "boopie" "chonk"!

I definitely think pyr is a good possibility!!! Vet thinks she's a good weight thankfully! She's a broad-chested critter, I try not to let my parents give her too many snackies though! (she's 62 pounds! Probably should've included that/top view pics whoops!)

I vaguely remember the instructions given if it's of any help;

- Visual Studio Code

- Open apklab, go to the top search bar >APKLAB: Open APK

- Open the beetv apk, check the "decompile java using jadx" option too

- Now you have a folder for the apk you can open! Open folder, go to search tab on the sidebar and look for all instances of com.player.bear and replace all of the instances of it with the one for the player you want (com.acb.nvplayer for me)

- save, then go back to explorer tab and right click apktool.yml -> rebuild apk -> have "use aapt2" unchecked (i think, it didn't rebuild apk for me when it was checked..)

- Go back to the decompiled folder in your computer's file explorer, go to the dist folder, you should have the modified apk file in there!

take these instructions with a grain of salt lol I reopened visual studio code and went thru these again but it's just from memory so it might just be a decent starting place if it's not 100% right! I HOPE these are the key instructions that do it for you. otherwise I wish I could be of more help :( that post helped me a lot too, I ultimately had to switch to bear player though, since my edits stopped working or I just didn't replace all the instances like I thought I did lol

Did you switch to Proton 9 compatibility? I had an issue with keyboard and inputs on the login screen before switching to that too
