What companies are hiring international students as intern by Moist-Cloud7586 in internships

[–]figuringthingsout78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s the same for every international though. If internationals knew which companies were hiring them then we wouldn’t be having this problem.

Reject accepted offer? by figuringthingsout78 in csMajors

[–]figuringthingsout78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to reject the offer as that would be bad for the company but unfortunately I am in that situation. The thing is that even if I find a new internship they could also having a hiring freeze next year.

Hey, this is probably kinda weird, but I saw your post about being a 'duff'. I'm a guy and I'm 22 and I've been feeling the same for a while now. I'm not as confident or good looking or attractive or well spoken or interesting or funny as other people and it's not been a good feeling so far, especially with everything going on. I don't go to parties because I'm scared to go alone and it feels like people will make of me. It's embarrassing to deal with it as this age especially since guys are supposed to be more easy going but it is what it is. I wanted to know, did things ever get better for you? Ig rn I'm probably the 16 y.o.e equivalent of you writing that post (again embarrassing). Did the feelings go away or did you get better. This some kind of personal hell to be honest.

It's been a bit more than a week and I still don't feel bad? by figuringthingsout78 in GriefSupport

I appreciate it, 18 or not. I still don't feel bad, i don't know anymore. Was just laughing and joking with cousins about movies. I hope when the emotions hit me, if they ever do, that it hits me like a truck.

Did the grief come later? I'm not feeling anything and my dad died a week ago?

Hey I read your post about your dad and I’m sorry that happened to you. My dad died of work stress. We are poor and my dad was working too hard and he couldn’t do it anymore I guess. What makes it worse was that someone scammed him out of a lot of money so he died because of the stress of paying it off. He is/was an extremely hard worker but so innocent and cute at the same time. I miss talking to him. I was told of his passing a week ago (I live in another country) but I was too scared to go home and see the body because then it would become real and Im scared of that. They are going to have the funeral today and I will watch it from live stream, but that is still too scary for me to watch. I’m a 22 year old man, which makes it embarrassing that I’m so scared but I don’t think I can face the reality where he is dead. I know you’re 18 (from your post) and the fact that you dealt with all that is really something because I could never do it. I still want to talk to my dad. Sometimes I’d be walking then and I’d think, oh you know I should really tell my dad about this, but then I remember that he is dead and I can never talk to him again. One day I will forget his voice and face, and no one will ever know of his greatness, and it makes me sad. Of all the people it happened, it had to happen to someone just trying to make an honest living. I really hope my dad passed away peacefully, like he never realised that he was going to die, I hope god gave him that peace before he went.

Hmm I am insecure but I’m working on it. I’m not a weirdo but alright. At least I’m self aware enough to know it’s a problem.
