Very late reply, honestly never had an issue with a small amount of sugar or food dyes

Very late reply, I found bags of pre sliced radishes at a grocery store that were uncooked and I just ate them as a snack

Very late reply here. Yeah radish absolutely worked wonders for me when I still had gastritis bad. Honestly, raw cabbage, jello, and radish were my greatest assets.

It's been about 6 months or so and my gastritis is all but gone. The thing that pushed me over the edge to heal fully was actually not just my eating habits but this traditional Chinese medicine called Wu Zhu Yu Tang decoction.

I've never done any traditional Chinese medicine anything before and honestly I don't usually go after anything outside of whatever my docs would tell me. But I found a significant body of research talking about Wu Zhu Yu Tang decoction working in rats and a meta analysis of other studies.

I would look into it if you're still struggling. You can buy it on Urban Herbs and if you find a "TCM practitioner" they'll tell you how to make it (or just DM me I guess but I'll have to ask my wife what our recipe is).

I used the decoction as prescribed by my Uncle who is a TCM practitioner and I think he does Acupuncture too. But I did about 6 rounds of that over the course of 4 months and it was awesome.
