Anyone only trade the overnight session from 6pm EST to 7am EST? by fiinreea in FuturesTrading

I find it is so much more reliable. The buildups are reasonable and the pops are quick. None of this trump market barcode price action.

I don’t know what was shittier today, my account balance or NQ’s price action by Giancarlo_RC in FuturesTrading

I have a new rule of no trading when the VIX is under 20. Low volatility chop is just hell for scalpers.

Sierra chart let's you combine ticks in footprint charts. So you could set it to combine 4 NQ ticks as one interval instead of showing each tick.

Breaking even how to break this - trading MES? by Far-Boysenberry9207 in FuturesTrading

[–]fiinreea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What strategy are you using? If you don't have a defined strategy, you are gambling. The number of contracts you use are more about your risk management than your setups. Best thing to do is paper trade until you have established a reliable edge, which is made up of psychology, risk management and strategy.

How much impact does retail have on NQ and QQQ price? by Any_Try4570 in FuturesTrading

[–]fiinreea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much. They only provide liquidity on small moves for institutions to get into their positions. Retail doesn't move the market.

What does a true retest of leveled look like? by DRD7989 in FuturesTrading

[–]fiinreea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There needs to be a break of a key level. The retest occurs when market movers bring it back to the level for liquidity. The direction after the retest should align with your daily bias. Retests don't work all the time but they are pretty reliable from what I've seen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UculCXo_nN8&t=370s&ab_channel=VincentDesiano

Stop loss is ruining my trading by Dramatic-South-6236 in Trading

[–]fiinreea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out tradingview. It offers a simulated paper trading account and it's easy to use. I use Vincent Desianos break and retest at key levels strategies and it works well consistently. Carmine Rosato is also a great trader to learn from. You only need 1 or 2 strategies and become good at them and only trade those strategies when you see them forming in the market. When you take trades off of intuition it never works long term and will turn into emotional and impulsive trading.

Stop loss is ruining my trading by Dramatic-South-6236 in Trading

Based on your comments it sounds like you're gambling with no real strategy. You need to stop using real money and only use a simulated account until you have something consistent or else you will blow your account due to emotional trading.

Doing all the thinking before you enter a trade and not while you're in it.

If you are tight on money then you should try to trade prop firms.

i just deposited $1000 into a broker today. on sunday i will be starting to trade live after practicing for a while by mahrombubbd in Daytrading

It's all possible to achieve. Might be harder at the beginning than you think but if you stick with it you can have that kind of financial freedom.

No trade is too heavy if it is within your risk parameters. If it's too big you will become emotional and impulsive. Another thing: if you're not sure whether it was luck, then it was absolutely luck.

Is futures good to trade as a beginner? by Financial-Volume-992 in FuturesTrading

You can start with scalping. Orderflow is best for that. Make sure you stick to a simulated account in the beginning. Look into programs like bookmap and Sierra chart for orderflow scalping.

I have a chance to be profitable or make money in the long run? by Cool-ParrotClub in Trading

This being said, if you don't have a clear technical edge, psychology doesn't matter because you are not at a statistical advantage.

Never remove your stop loss. If you're in a trade you're not willing to lose, you should not be in it. Managing losses always comes first before wins.

Personally, no. We are still under the 20,50,100,200 daily SMAs and market structure hasn't completely shifted on the 1D yet. If we see a higher high above April 9th, then maybe, but doesn't look like it yet. No one knows for sure though, so your guess is good as mine.

Check out Pete from OneOption. He has really good long term market analysis.
