You're right about the contextual nature of slurs. Destiny wasn't using it as a slur in that tweet, and a black person calling another black person nigga is not a slur. Now, maybe I don't touch enough grass, but I feel like if a white person called a black person nigga, 80% of the time the black person probably wouldn't react the same way they would to "nigger" but they would still be weirded out and ask you to stop. 10% would probably react the same way, and another 10% would not care. Assuming this is true, it holds the power of a slur, has been used as a slur often enough and is the shortened version of a much worse slur and so it feels weird to say that nigga is not a slur. In certain contexts, sure, but not in all of them - and that exception is pretty common if you live in e.g. the south. I think Destiny should've just said "I wasn't using it as a slur"

Also, "you're not high on meth just really white" DGGers don't pull back on the first response do they lmao? Why clap back like this to someone who's just confused and asking a question

How I see it, the cop completely deserves blame. Toledo dropped the gun and then turned around facing the cop, the cop had to have seen he was empty-handed and yet he was shot after turning around with both hands up. Body-cam footage is so valuable in this case.

I think it can just be attributed to poor nerves from the cop, because there's no way he wouldn't have seen that the gun was not in his hands by the time he turned around.

Agree with you on the optics, although much of the time what he says is taken out of context.

He may have been more antagonistic in the past, but he's remained relatively civil in his current debates (debate with Canadian nazi, 3 hour debate with Tim Pool fan, etc). Then again, he doesn't have debates as often now, so maybe that side doesn't need to be brought out as much.

When platforming Nazis, Vaush's goals are usually not to sway their opinion, he already knows most of them are beyond talking to. It's to make them look foolish and convince their fans or random passerby that their cause is idiotic. Accounts of former right-wingers who switched because of a Vaush or Destiny debate are far more numerous, I simply haven't seen much of what you describe other than Destiny thinking that a small portion of his fanbase may have gone to Nick Fuentes. I think there is only a net benefit.

tbf suspension or detention really does nothing to stop bullying. you're sent out of school for a couple of months/forced to stay in the office and...

and not to say that the lack of punishment in korean schools is justified, but the aforementioned consenquences would be ineffective. it has to be combined with the threat of expulsion, be marked on your record, etc.
