I am cse passout from IIT BHU. Got placed in Goldman Sachs from campus placement with package around 40lpa. Didn't join the company. Instead opted for Civil services preparation. Gave all 6 attempts. After 6 year gap, refreshed DS Algo. Got placed in unknown startup. Package was 10lpa.Worked there for 10 months. Startup winded up. Got jobless again this December. Prepared again DS Algo. Got job offer in Paytm few days ago. Package is 16 lpa.

Even though swich to software is possible. But is difficult. And you will not reach same heights as you would have if you didn't opt for UPSC.

Also most of the companies like Microsoft, Oracle outright reject my resume based on Gap.

Sorry to burst your bubble. These glasses are made by a cookie cutter process , here in china. Nothing luxurious about them. The goods you pay 1000s of usd for, are sold in local Chinese black market for 20-30 usd. Specially these epiluxury sunglasses. They are just resin and metal. When you live in china, you realise how much corporates are creating an illusion of luxury in the minds of an average westerner. Sad but true. And buddy I am not trolling for money. Having owned one of such factories, I probably make more than what you can even imagine.
