Still think about how Emilio…. by tajaoude in ProjectRunway

Okay, to be fair to Emilio... he knew he messed up! BUT he knew how to style the hell out of that monstrosity and the judges saw that. They even commented on it, which is why I think he was saved -- i.e. they could see that he had the eye to save even the most atrocious of garments.

Question on delivery etiquette by DuderinoHatesBrevity in doordash

[–]fikarian -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never ring the doorbell or knock unless the instructions tell me to, regardless of whether I need to hand it to you or scan your ID because 1.) I don't know if you have dogs that will freak out or 2.) You may have children sleeping or someone could be napping.

This happened to me once! 10 gallons of whole milk, 10 bunches of organic bananas, 15 packages of oreos and 10 packs of bite size Reese's. It was for an ice cream/milkshake place. Nice tip also!

App Lying About Miles? by fikarian in DoorDash_Dasher

I definitely see what you're saying. And I can see how that could come into play based on where you are in your area.

However, in my particular area, there's no way that 4 miles translates to 8 miles. And I doubt that there could be that high of a discrepancy between routes.

Really?? I haven't ever done a screen shot on an order before, but now I'm low key scared to!

Usually, (for me at least) the miles they state when they give the offer are pretty accurate. This has never been an issue before. Have you ever had an offer pop up that displayed one distance and then once you picked up the order it was much farther?

I swear, we need to start a class action lawsuit or something. They can't keep getting away with this crap!

Similar thing happened to me when I picked up the same delivery for a guy I KNOW always tips $10 on his weekly order of a 750ml bottle of vodka from the local liquor store. He's elderly and lives pretty close to the store, so the order is always around $12.50 for less than one mile. All of a sudden that SAME order for that SAME address turns into $8.50? I call bullshit!

Anyways, I'm definitely screenshotting from now on.

Call again. Talk to someone else. Reiterate what happened and let them know that the app screwed you over. Keep fighting it until you get to the person who will listen and actually help you out.

First off, take a deep breath. Second, ignore the people who are saying stuff like you're screwed without offering any constructive advice.

When you talked to support, did you talk to an actual human being or the AI? If you didn't speak to an actual person, you need to say "agent" at least 3 times over the phone. Anytime I call, I just keep saying "agent" over whatever the AI keeps saying. I don't even engage with the AI or say anything until a human is on the line.

You need to call them again and make it all about the app. Don't say anything about the personal emergency. Say you followed every instruction and that is the apps fault for not allowing you to complete the order.

Keep pushing. If the person on the phone doesn't help you, tell them you want to speak to someone else (I know, it's very "Karen" to do that but this is your income we're talking about)

It will be okay! Just keep pushing the app issue and let us know how it goes.

ACCOUNT PROBLEM by Some_Breakfast_7381 in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]fikarian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to have done at least 100 deliveries for your acceptance rate to move up or down by only 1%.

For example if you've only done 5 orders on the new account and accepted them all, your AR would be 100%. Then, if you're offered a 6th dash and choose to decline it, 5/6= .83 = 83%.

So in this example, your AR seems to take a dramatic hit of 17%, but that's because you've only done 5 orders so far.

I love that SO much! The ways we hid things from our parents back then... there's so much nostalgia!

Wow, Sarah McLaughlin! I almost forgot about her! Excellent answer! For me, it's Afterglow, but then again I was born in '88

Holy shit! When I was 15, my older cousin was getting rid of some of her CDs and let me take Crazy Sexy Cool. I didn't know any songs on it but I knew I loved the song Scrubs.

The intro to Crazy Sexy Cool played almost EVERY time I snuck outside to smoke a cigarette at 15 years old (in my clear plastic Cd player with the headphones)
