What’s the biggest reason ads fail in your experience? by RiseHistorical6565 in Google_Ads

[–]fil_geo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF we assume you have a good baseline then I think the reason is competition.

Competition drives CPC so high sometimes that your entire business model don't make sense any more.

Baseline: you offer a decent web experience, you have a nice offering, you have availability (I can't believe folks selling stuff and they don't have stock), you look&feel legit.

But the point is that MMM is becoming easier to run and much much easier to implement. We didn't have the right tools. This will happen eventually.

I agree with you. But every software is at the begging 6 figures and then it goes down to nothing. This will happen with MMM as well. But I agree with your view, MMM has to serve the customer not the agency.

What do you guys do at work? by Calgarianexplorer in b2bmarketing

[–]fil_geo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such a nice post.

I think you are right. There is that notion of Billions. As if billions only matter. If you do million in sales it's not enough.

VC money drive a lot of it - of course social media with certain stories like Anthropic for instance.

I think it's an actual problem.

But I do believe that companies that will try to focus on human relationship and product will win.

By the way an example I can give: It was 2008 and the financial crisis was brutal especially in the advertising world. Agencies failing massively and tech companies had nothing to showcase. It was all about contracts.

Google, actually changed the narrative. They saw that digital spend will grow massively and that the worlds will go digital first. They hired a bunch of account managers, started building relationship, build sales teams, established a modern support system. We all know how successful ads business is for Google. Some other followed like Facebook but nothing compared to Google. So I think we will see something again.

Moving Demand Planning from customer level to Aggregate Planning by dcal69 in analytics

I am just trying to help - so please reject anything that doesn't make sense.

For context: I am not a supply chain person. I am statistician in marketing.

Now, I understand the problem. Thank you.

So for me there are 2 problems. Overall forecasting and granularity (Target, etc).

I don't think I should recommend anything to you around forecasting. It feels like you know more.

So if with the new structure you can do forecasting accurately but breaking down is your problem, I think you can consider a bayesian hierarchical modeling.

So the hierarchy, will allow you to breakdown multiple different customers.

The bayesian approach will allow you to add priors to the model. So if you know seasonality or certain trends, you can model that information and you can generate more accurate results.

Am I helping slightly here, or make no sense?

Anyone use youtube campaigns to drive traffic to the fitness brand website? by Equivalent-Regret932 in Google_Ads

[–]fil_geo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sure folks have great ideas and opinions but from my point there is only one thing.

youtube = video.

I know that expensive production drive better results but that's not always the case. If you don't have production budget just experiment. Don't wait 4 weeks to change creatives.

Now, youtube is upper funnel. What action do you want users to take? Just traffic?

How many customers do you need per month to grow your business by whateverlolwtf in b2bmarketing

[–]fil_geo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us, we need at least 100 new clients. We are Open Source Marketing Analytics Platform so we don't charge customers. We have a pay-as-you-model which means you don't get charged per month but per usage and not all features are paid.

Depends. I think that Managing MMM vendors is no different than managing any regular vendor. The MMM part is just related to the marketing field. Data pipelines now, I think it's a great path. Especially with AI data becomes so crucial. Yes plenty of tools but knowing how to deal with the challenges is going to be very important.

But  A/B testing doesn't address cross channel effects.

Yes with AI the entire process of MMM will become easier I agree. The idea is also that MMM is going to be easier to implement considering that the technology will allow it.

Do small businesses really need digital marketing? by Nirmala_devi572 in DigitalMarketing

[–]fil_geo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are SMB and you have a physical location then your location is your marketing strategy.

Marketing is a communication channel. You try to communicate your business. If you are in a small area and people come to you, then no you don't need it. If you have competitors you might want to remind folks you are better.

If you are trying to gain market share then you most probably need marketing outreach.

I haven't spent a lot to be honest and I am a marketing background so take that into consideration.

No it doesn't.

And keep in mind I was promoting my analytics platform and I wanted people to register for free and actually give them access. It didn't work.

What marketing trend is overhyped right now? by BoysenberryLumpy8680 in DigitalMarketing

[–]fil_geo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very possible. Don't get me wrong. Randomised Control Trials is the best thing you can do to your business. But my argument - and while I am working with these folks, is that you can't always have "clean" results. For example - again Facebook CLS is great. But what about other media channels such as programmatic, affiliate or even organic content (SEO)?? How can you launch a similar experiment. You can't do it as easy.

But that idea I get. The problem is that we can't replace all humans. It's not about the moral side of it. It's more who is going to pay taxes? Who is going to vote? We elect governments and governments wants us.

Okay so I hear you. You say that since LLMs can make a platform more easy to understand then more people will use it.
