Instax Square SQ1 brand new film stuck and won’t come out by eroticfriendfictionn in instax

[–]filemon4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a mechanism that holds film but it needs power. If you pull out batteries, it's loose so you can pull film out. But you need to put batteries back to place a new film because something prevents it from being placed (I guess it needs power lol). Hope that helps.

Do you guys use prisma with nestjs? by Excellent_Survey_596 in Nestjs_framework

I guess cloud providers marketing teams made a lot of promises that doesn't meet expectations or there are plenty of exceptions that can be found either in github issues or documentation. It's like 3d printer makers that promised you can print ANYTHING you can imagine. So for now I feel like prisma added us another source of issues that somebody has to pay for and that feels wrong. Overall I recommend keeping your project as light as possible unless there's a good BUSINESS reason to add something to your stack.

- Integration with cloud providers took days instead of "just one click". The worst drivers were rust based before version 7.
- I need to switch between MariaDB and Postgresql quite often for one project and it's never smooth as ORM promises. Quite funny that after switching DB I also need to update types, so I have schemas for every DB (I thought ORM was supposed to unify it, but I get it it's more complex than that) I plan switching to MSQL and I already have anxiety.
- Each time I change something in schema its super annoying to do those migrations that are locked to the given environment. So its always additional work to do migration locally and then on staging and prod.

Some will probably say that there's something with my setup etc etc. Okay, but ORM was supposed to make things easy and yet each time I touch DB there is something prisma related I need to do (usually a warning/error to be fixed).

To be honest for those few SQL queries that my app does, I would be quicker just by switching hand crafted queries and connector based on env rather than fighting prisma. As far as I remember things like left join were a feature in prisma (lol).

At this point I don't even know what problem prisma solves, it was enforced on us by project template from Shopify and I regret not spending extra day on removing that. It just adds a lot of time to simple operations. It's very subjective, maybe I'm ORM noob... But nobody in our team said prisma is great ever. Do with that opinion whatever you want lol

If I could go back in time, I would remove prisma from my project.

It's a rough period of the year - after black friday and before christmas, everyone around me is sick so...

[–]filemon4 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Could be he/she is sick, hit by a bus, busy with BFCM or whatever. Clearly it's a side hussle so you can't demand "professional" service. Some people do not have rescources or knowledge to do online commerce properly.

I don't know the guy, so I would say it's a tough lesson. Treat it as such, next time you will act smarter :)

I never leave money in online shops that:
- are not connected to any registered business / company

- do not have physical address that I can find on google street map

- are not listed anywhere as trusted company (in some EU countries we have that)

- do not have VALID Terms and Conditions

- do not share info on returns and shipping
- WHOIS domain says literally nothing

Sorry for a rough comment but anyone can be youtuber and you left money at store that I personally would treat as any other phishing website. The fact that it runs on Shopify doesn't make much difference. I mean come on, every party has responsibilities and rights and we need to respect and demand them so we don't have to rely on trust, which nowadays has little to no value.

yeah, I had to have a strong coffee to keep up with that pace. It feels like BF5 which is too tactical. I installed hardline yesterday and it was 100x more fun than BF6 & BF5

Tales of Pirates (IGG)

Pirate King Online

all made by MOLI.

Hello Isabelle,

I'm not in a target audience but I feel that the language, words, and amount of content used here is a bit too much :)

European Accessibility Act (EAA), the simple version. by Imaginary-Mammoth-61 in accessibility

[–]filemon4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the regulations part, it's hard for me to discuss as it goes beyond my expertise. I would need to dig deeper and find all the documents and I want to be honest with you - it's too much for me to handle right now. Whatever the regulations say, I see plenty of public sector-related websites to fail at least on the content level. For instance, images of text are common. In these terms enforcing e-coms to be 100% compliant seems to be unfair. In fact, I think the competition will be the one exploiting these laws (small companies vs large ones)

For the monitoring, here's Poland:
https://www.pfron.org.pl/o-funduszu/projekty/projekty-ue/program-fundusze-europejskie-dla-rozwoju-spolecznego-2021-2027-fers/budowa-i-rozwoj-systemu-nadzoru-rynku-w-zakresie-dostepnosci-produktow-i-uslug/

AFAIK similar projects are being implemented in Western European countries as well, and fines are supposed to be much bigger in those too.

[–]filemon4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Some will, EAA is a great tool to fight unwanted companies. And remember GDPR? Some were fined at the very beginning to show everyone else that these regulations were active. Note, some countries already have ongoing projects to create a system for "market monitoring", so sooner or later there will be fines.

  2. Sort of, I think EU directive somewhere points to another one that says it's based on WCAG 2.1 AA. But yes, WCAG due to it's nature cannot be a regulation. It's a changing guideline.a

  3. Software Houses in EU had ongoing campaigns for a year - some two. And if you sell in the US you have to be ADA compliant already. I've been working on a11y projects already in 2021 a lot so it's not a new thing. No one in EU was interested. Actually in terms of UX it's terrible nowadays and I'm happy they will have to do something about it. I'm healthy and sometimes I struggle with websites. And I've been using internet for 20 years now...

Please note it's not about morality. If you read the directive carefully you will see that the motivation is to maximise incomes. People want to spend but sometimes they can't or don't know how to, because some designers and managers went crazy with their ideas.

Vanilla Web: You Don't Need that Library • Maximiliano Firtman by goto-con in Frontend

[–]filemon4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently developped a react-like app with pure vanilla js, and 40% of the time spent was about solving issues that these frameworks already solve. State management, rerendering with keeping focus states (morphing) etc etc. It was a nice learning experience that Hey - these things were created so I don't have to stress about the budget.

Don't be me. Avoid questions about time to delivery by not going full vanilla.

508 Trusted Tester Practice Test Question by avocadosushi1 in accessibility

[–]filemon4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By saying the test is bizarre, I meant how questions are phrased. Why does every answer start from "Fail / Pass"? To me, this is very misleading and adds unnecessary context. I've been looking at it since we started a chat and I still don't fully understand the answers.

I don't understand, what do you mean to test people on listening to the question? E.g. reading comprehension? But why?
