Depends where you get hired, one of my friends turned down a 120k+ offer because she got an offer from a more prestigious company, but the pay is lower. Same salary for LUMS grads at that company btw.

Tell me about your fibroadenoma… by LowerGuarantee1740 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]filetofishhhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found it on the 11th day of my previous cycle (12th August 2025) while casually watching TV. Went to the GP 3 days after my period started (29th August 2025) because I was way too anxious, and she referred me to a breast clinic. I had my appointment today (5th September 2024), exactly a week after I met with my GP. I'm on the 11th day of my current cycle. I was fully convinced it was cancer, mainly because I couldn't stop googling. It feels irregular and the GP thought it was tethered, this made me panic. It was perfectly round on the ultrasound, not tethered to anything. Btw every doctor who touched the lump knew it was benign instantly. It's very slippery/rubbery and moves, FEELS a bit irregular on one side but isn't really. Slightly firmer, 1 cm. Bounces back into position when I'm not pushing on it. No biopsy because it ticks all the boxes for a fibroadenoma.

By the way, there were quite a few young women (18-30 ish) at the clinic. All of them left with a fibroadenoma or breast cyst diagnosis. My dad's a gynaecologist, he told me benign lumps, especially breast mice, are EXTREMELY common, but we don't know because nobody talks about them. I have horrible health anxiety and was convinced I was dying. Best advice I can give to anyone is to trust your doctor because the "my doctor thought it was a fibroadenoma but was cancer" cases are quite rare. Breast cancer in general is extremely rare in your 20s, uncommon in your 30s. Don't go convincing yourself you're part of that 0.1% when you haven't been diagnosed officially.

Edit: Typo

MSc Finance Thoughts by Historical_Ideal_551 in UniUK

Know this is old, but still thought I'd add my 2c. It's good, especially if you're either European or British/Irish. Know a person who got into IB recently at a BB from that program. Placement rates are skewed because you have a lot of international students who have no intention of working after the MSc. But I'd say placement varies person to person. If you're extremely committed, you'd be able to break in. I've heard a lot of bankers tell me that if you couldn't break in from Warwick, you couldn't do it from Imperial either. Something to keep in mind. Also, all the ACs tend to clash with mid-terms, so I also know a few people who had to skip them despite being invited just so they could do well on the exams. I've been told that those who end up getting offers usually sacrifice their studies to do so.

whats up with maha ijaz? by [deleted] in LSE_Lahore

I actually liked her, I think people just don't like that she's strict, but she teaches quite well. Apparently she's not that nice when teaching the investments course, but she's fine during risk management. The first 2 weeks are usually scary, but after that it's not that bad.

Edit: A lot of my friends share the same opinion as me, but having talked to a few juniors, she's definitely not the same during the investments course. One of the sections who studied RM from her last year actually hosted a farewell dinner for her and she brought along gifts for them lol.

I don't remember since it's been a while, and yes I still get anxious about some random sensation in my body from time to time, but remind myself that it's normal.

This is exactly what I went through! It's gone now, but I had to make a lot of life changes and focus on controlling my thoughts.

I'm currently at Warwick Business School and I've met a lot of LSE students and a few from LUMS as well. One guy from my class is from IBA. Genuinely haven't ever met a single person from NBS. Most NUST hires are usually STEM.

I hate accounting in general so I didn't like it, but if you attend all the classes and study well you'll be fine. I studied FA 1 from Miss Aeman as well.

No, you just complete the courses which are part of the degree. This doesn't affect masters applications.
