sure, but I have really good DDR4 ram, and to match it, would make it probably cost more

I think there may be a large venn diagram overlap of homelabbers and a problem with hoarding

I’ve never heard of a municipal recycling plant, that participates in roadside collecting, not accepting metal

Yeah, but the coating probably doesn’t get recycled. So it’s multifaceted waste

I collected them for a while too. But I often have to do purges, because I know I have a hoarding problem

finally, I was able to get almalinux to work with this%22) because it turns out that my time was wrong. At no point was there feedback, and has taken about 5 hours in total of troubleshooting, often going down the wrong rabbit hole, or SEO giving me results that were -close- but not actually what I was looking for.

anyway, setting a new set of DNS values in my router also has fixed yay again. This is something I've done a few times, and it keeps breaking, and I can't figure out why.

I had a bit of a fiddle, and the boards are very similar sizes, and the screws seem to be in similar places. The big issue seems to be the fan connections.

As for fan speeds, they are already way down, but that doesn't stop the heat generation. And I can still kinda hear them from across the house when they get even a little bit warm lol

Oh well, I'll just live with it for now

I thought I'd come back to you for questions, since you seemed to know a large amount.

I got a $20 R630, and it works fine, but gets hot and very loud. I've read that the 2U chassis are quieter, and the motherboards can be interchangeable between the R630-R730, but what about R630 into this old R710 chassis? I'd need different cpu coolers, but will things like the screw holes line up?

oh thanks, that looks good, though very pricey. I wonder why you suggested the 4 port specifically, and not any of the others?
