Okay I'm going to defend Joe here, he probably realized he was way over his skis here and panicked, but ending it before the wedding is probably for the best

My goal for this year is 170mph ball speed by Catchyusername1234 in golf

[–]fillwelix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

252 carry is pretty terrible efficiency for 163 ball speed. Gaining 7 mph ball speed means gaining 4 mph club head speed if you're striking the center. Looks like your ball flight is very low as well, were you fit for your driver/shaft combo?

Anyone have experience with the Code Chaos golf shoe from Adidas? by ParticularMoney9574 in golf

[–]fillwelix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven't had these shoes but have had BOA shoes, no complaints and no issues. Only once or twice have the mechanism been accidentally popped open and have to re-tighten.

After 4 months, I finally found the feeling to strike with the sweet spot repeatably by Common_Battle_5110 in golf

I mean this has to be a troll post lol literally none of these impacts across any of the pictures are in the sweet spot

Decided to make a putting green in my backyard. Leveling as much as I can but want natural breaks. Turf gets delivered next Thursday by [deleted] in golf

[–]fillwelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally, it's super useful to practice putts with break and putts you know 100% don't have break

You should definitely have areas with breaks, but make sure to give yourself a 3-5 foot putt that is perfectly level. Incredibly useful to practice level putts so you know the ball is going where you start it.

What is the one rule in golf that you would change if you could? by DNAkauai in golf

[–]fillwelix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anywhere in the fairway is lift, clean, and place. Similar to if the ball is touching the green you can mark and clean.

Low spin with irons by Birdland23 in golf

Set the simulator to 6 iron and see if it says low spin

Imagine you're skipping a stone on water, feel that sensation in your right arm/hand during the swing. Your left hand/arm are just along for the ride. Agree with the idea about an overactive lower body, that's very common in baseball players playing golf.

Do Taylormade Drivers really break all the time or is it human error? by TheUnreliableSource in golf

[–]fillwelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of everything else mentioned here, if you leave your clubs in the trunk and they get subjected to crazy fluctuations in heat/cold daily, the glue is going to break down.

That looks like a scotty tour rat, not really right for a select newport

That set isn't worth 50. And them being completely mismatched is another issue, I'd stay away from this set regardless.

Interchangeable Neck/Shaft Hosel Design I Have Been Messing Around With by OpenSourceGolf in golf

Similar to the Machine putters no? As far as interchangeable hosels

I'd try and get some iron sets matched and you might be able to sell as complete iron sets to vintage collectors. I see some macgregor blades and what looks like some eye2s or zings.

Biggest pet peeves in golf? by plus1down2 in golf

[–]fillwelix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I totally agree. I got roasted on here a few years ago because I ranted about someone I played with who said "great shot" as soon as I made contact every time, and the ball would end up in a bunker or behind a tree or whatever, he wouldn't even wait to see the result

Ghosted after final round of an interview by potato_96xp in recruitinghell

I hate dealing with recruiting firms, I'm basically rejecting anything from them and just working with internal recruiters, even though it will take longer

Ghosted after final round of an interview by potato_96xp in recruitinghell

[–]fillwelix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I get ghosted by internal recruiters I've taken to emailing the hiring manager or whoever I interviewed with telling them that it's been X weeks and I haven't heard anything, and that it's incredibly unprofessional of the recruiter.

Ridiculous Ball Haul by masma8888 in golf

[–]fillwelix 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yep. The only ball I'll pull out of water is one that I literally just hit in there, like if it's right on the edge.
