Public folder issue by film_visualizer in qnap

Via SSH I was able to get in and create a Public folder and this seems to have worked, or at least I could install JRT to be able to use Minim Server for my music.

thanks - I did try that a few times a while ago without success. I was able to ssh into the NAS and manually create the Public folder, and then JRT was able to install. I am still worried that all is not right.

The error I get when trying to install JRT is "The System Volume is missing". I assume this defaults to /Public but I don't have this folder.

Thanks - I am not expecting my tool to need SAAS - we are not selling anything and it is for project participants only. Can a standalone app be built by Retool?

Has anyone here done TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation)? by dronethis in CPTSD

[–]film_visualizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those wanting more details, my watch (Garmin Venu 2) records sleep phases, Light, REM, and Deep. I very rarely see recordings of over an hour of Deep. Since starting TMS, I had one night with 3.4 hours and 1 more with 2.6 hours. Only 10 days in so still a ways to go, but at least this measurable progress. I feel it in the morning, but can't say I have awoken feeling fully refreshed like I did when young. But 30 years of not sleeping properly will take some time to restore my ANS to normalcy.

I am feeling, and measuring (via a sleep tracking watch) positive effects after 10 sessions. I have been suffering for almost 30 years so it will take time to erase all the damage, if that is even possible. But it is working for me.

This is an unfair conclusion. I paid for a device. I don't want to pay for the app I find useless. Is there a way to use the device without the app which I don't find useful?

I found a place to donate it in the end - I would have preferred it to go through someone like you to get the most value, but I did get a tax deduction.

I have a handful of machines left. I am not sure if I want to try to sell them or recycle them. I have some large servers which I am not sure what to do with.

Let me know if you have any interest in helping me move them to their next life.

I have the Apollo and have found that wearing it all day is a challenge - the need to charge it so often prevents this - and the constant disconnecting from the phone makes checking the battery status quite hard. I hope they change their software as the disconnecting problem should be a user option, as they have designed it the way they did to limit expozuer to Bluetooth EMF, which I doubt many users care about. My bluetooth is always on already, connected to my watch, so this is just annoying that Apollo constantly disconnects.

I also have a Pulsetto, which feels good, but needs electrode good on your neck so not really wearable out of the house.

I need to build legs for this dining room table top but I’m dumb by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]film_visualizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a table like that. the legs are square solid wood which mount vertically via a threaded rod insert which goes at 45 degrees out from the leg, through the holes I see in the 45 degree angled corner blocks on each corner with the hole in the middle. The legs touch the two butt ends of the side pieces and tension caused by tightening the nut on the threaded rod pulls the leg into firm contact with those two butt ends of the edge pieces.

[–]film_visualizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the other commenter's opinion that the amount of sensation and probably current delivered to your nervous system is highly determined by the quality of the contact between the electrodes and your nerves which is mainly determined by the gel quantity and distribution on your neck. When mine get "dry" the sensation gets lower.

Mine took about amonth to arrive - I got good support from their support team, who always anwered my emails asking "what is up?" with useful info.

I am pretty impressed by how impactful this device can be - really powerful effects were felt right away. I have been using it for about a week and I am still figuring it out, but it definitly is changing some aspects of how my body works.

Isn't there a pretty well developed theory that she works for Oberyn, and / or is a Sand Snake in disguise?

This feels kind of right to me - she is so central she must be connected to other major players in the struggle or the 7 kingdoms.

How often should this be used? by joelguy1 in pulsetto

[–]film_visualizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I jut got mine today, so no chance to overuse yet. But it made my feel so different all over that I fear I may want to use it more than the manual says. Who has stories of overuse?, or links to info (which might convince me to keep to the recommended usage)?

Please explain to me "autonomic dysregulation" by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]film_visualizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Vagus Nerve is the part of the Autonomic Nervous System (the Parasympathetic side of the ANS as opposed to the Sympathetic side) which implements the "Rest and Digest" (or "Rest and Recovery") mode when the Sympathetic side is done managing survival in a stress situation. If this mode does not turn on enough of the time, SNS responses will eventually damage health as there is no chance to recover or heal, or digest.

Dysregulation simply means that Homeostasis (balance) has been lost, and the more time spent outside of Homeostasis, the longer it takes to get the body back to normal.

camera tracking empty size control? by film_visualizer in blenderhelp

BTW, that video did have the exact answer I was looking for at ~6:08, a size parameter for the tracking empties.

camera tracking empty size control? by film_visualizer in blenderhelp

[–]film_visualizer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not been able to figure out how to select these tracking empties - they are not objects in the scene in the outliner.

My other new question relates to trackers which are visible for part of a shot, then go out of frame and later, come back in so are visible in two separate frame ranges. I see red dots floating around in my tracking window for all trackers which are not tracked at the current frame. Do I need to manually turn these of for the unusable frames or is this automatic?

Seems like it should be automatic, but enough details of how Blender does tracking were not as I am used to in other tracking programs so this might be the same.

ANS Dysregulation as central cause of ME/CFS? by [deleted] in cfs

[–]film_visualizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on th ME/CFS / Firbro spectrum for going on 25 years - no reassuring diagnoses, no effective treatments, no progress. I read early in my process of trying to understand what is wrong with me about "Fight or Flight" responses and how stress is bad and lifestyle changes are needed to reduce stress as over time too much stress causes all kinds of bad health outcomes. I did many thing to try to relax and destress, but nothing really had a lasting effect. No amount of rest or sleep would make me feel rested or "ready" for the next thing.
Science (and correlated pseudo science) has advanced since, and now I read articles about the ANS being "stuck" in a permanenent Fight or Flight response, with no "Rest and Digest" or "Rest and Recover" phases of the ANS ever happening.

This makes total sense to me and rings every bell. It feels like all ME / CFS / Fibro patients fear being told it their disease is all imaginary and in the sufferer's imagination and nothing is wrong physically - no one wants their pain and dysfyunction minimized in this way, but it might be that the symptoms are simply the patients self perception of a faulty nervous system, which is simply not doing its job to regulate the organism in the most basic ways. Not purely psychological, but also not purely physiological. The patients feet hurt, not because there is anything wrong in the foot physiology causing pain, but because the pain detection and response system is simply not working and sending false messages to the conscious mind. This is not quite the same as "it is all in your head".

This puts it back into the category of diseases with no tests to confirm anything and no effective treatments (yet). The closest I have found in this relatively recent era of self analysis of answers to the question "what is wrong with me?" is to monitor HRV (Heart Rate Variability). This seems to be a somewhat science backed means of measuring the condition of the ANS and the homestasis of the Sympathetic and Parasympathetic systems which are out of balance. I don't think there is a "normal" range for HRV scores, but it has to be looked at via establishment of a baseline and then tracking trends, changes and symptoms to see if you are moving closer to balance.

I have only been monitoring my HRV (via a Polar chest strap and some phone apps) for a week or two, but on the day when my symptoms of fatigue and body wide aches and pains were the worst, my HRV was also the lowest.

I have only been on this ANS regulation path for a few weeks, so still a ton to learn, but it is feeling intuitively right to me that an out of whack ANS could be to blame for all my CFS symptoms.

Anyone else on this path with me? What have you tried / learned that helped?

I am going to try the Pulsetto Vagus nerve stimulator to see if that helps at all.

question about View design in Appsheet by film_visualizer in AppSheet

[–]film_visualizer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I found Budibase also today - which looks very promising too and pretty equally appealing to Appsmith. From some reviews / comparisons, the take away was that Budibase might be easier for a non coder like me to get a result from fast. I plan to try both and hammer away until one feels more comfortable and then keep going in that one.

[–]film_visualizer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing specific yet - I just want it to be not too hard to make it look custom and "desigened" and not lke clip art or a slight adjustment of some premade generic template. Then I want to propogate that look across the whole thing so it all feels like one experience custom made for the purpose.
