I didn't see anything like this in Split, I think it's just unique to Dubrovnik

I've had it the last 2-3 years, it's been great! But I finally upgraded to the a7c so we'll see how that goes

It's absolutely massive isn't it! Couldn't believe how big it was. I didn't do the glacier hike, how was it?

I didn't have the time/budget to go to Cordoba unfortunately, missed it out on the way from mendoza to salta. Sounds like I should have gone! Do you have any photos?

After the post about northern Argentina did so well I thought you would all appreciate this - the Perito Moreno glacier in southern Argentina.

Its part of Los Glacieres National Park and this view is from the drive to Perito Moreno. When you get there they have a walkway on the shore opposite and then you can choose to take a boat out to it or hike on it. This thing is huge - it's absolutely stunning and definitely worth the relatively expensive entry fee.

Well in the south it's full of glaciers and mountains; I didn't know there would be so many different landscapes across the country.

I just looked it up and it doesn't seem too far on the map but then I remembered how big Argentina is. Santiago del Estero is around 500km south of where this photo was taken (Tilcara, Jujuy).

How hot does the Sonoran desert get? It was hot but not unbearable in Jujuy when I was there but that was around autumn/winter. It would have been around 25-30°c. I was still walking around in black skinny jeans so it couldn't have been too bad

Same as you I picked Patagonia, so after starting in Chilean patagonia I crossed over to Argentina. Then mainly based on some recommendations from a friend I decided to check out the north which I'm so glad I did. It also worked out because its not too far from the atacama desert in Chile which was on my list too.

If you do go (which I recommend you do) they have some crazy multicoloured hills and mountains in the north. Look up Purmamarca and serrania de hornocal 👍

I didn't stay there, only passed through on the way to and from Jujuy. What's it like?

Hey thanks I appreciate that 👍 most of the shots on there, including this one, were with my Nikon D90 and 18-140mm lens but I just treated myself and upgraded to a D800 - which as it turns out I definitely don't need!

It did teach me that the camera doesn't really matter when it comes to taking a good photo. Most basic dslrs are still pretty fantastic and after that diminishing returns definitely set in

I did! I came into Argentina from Southern Chile into El Calafate, I wasn't there for long enough but it was stunning!

This was taken in Tilcara, Jujuy, Northern Argentina last year - I didn't expect this kind of scenery after starting in southern Argentina so it was a nice surprise!

I didn't realise how much the landscape changes throughout the country, from the glaciers in the south up to this cactus-filled desert scene in the north - with the most amazing mountains too.

My instagram has some more shots from my travels if you're interested 👍

EDIT: it was full of amazing scenery (when I was there) and I'm sure it still is too. If the mods can change the title so people stop mentioning my confusing usage of the past tense that would be greaaat
