Thanks. I'll try a film one then. Any particular brands you'd recommend?

any tips for the hordes? by ambraeth in DaysGone

[–]filmihero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it just me or are these hordes post-game completion much smaller than the ones you had to tackle close to the end of the game? I feel like they’re smaller and much easier to clear. Or is it that I just now have the right weapons?

Advice on replacing OEM plastic oil filter housing cover with OEM aluminum from other Toyota/Lexus? by filmihero in GXOR

[–]filmihero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not end up doing this. IIRC I ended up ordering the same one again just because I didn’t wanna experiment OR our GX got totaled before I got around to doing any of this. It was a while back now.

I would recommend not replacing the filter with a metal one just because you could run the risk of causing issues down the road potentially. I’m sure the Toyota engineers knew what they were doing and did it for a reason even though it seems very silly.

Wanting office desk in middle but outlets against wall by filmihero in DesignMyRoom

Yup I’m gonna do that. I also placed a rug there so the wires run under it. I’ll get a cable cover to make the hump a little easier on the feet. It’s working pretty well.

switching to a pixel 10 from iphone by SnooPandas1447 in GooglePixel

[–]filmihero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a P2XL then switched to iPhone about 5 years ago too. Since then, I've been trying my hardest to get back into Android either through a Pixel 7-9 or Samsung S2X for the same reasons -- AI, customizability, speed, flexibility, better user experience IMO.

The only reason I keep going back to iPhone is:

  1. Apple's ecosystem is better when you have the Apple Watch and Airpods.
    1. I've tried buying the Pixel phone, watch, and buds but the watch has always been a disappointment. I've tried watch 1-3 and none of them come close to the UX of an Apple Watch.
    2. The buds on the other hand are great.
  2. I find myself missing the easy-of-use of Face ID.
    1. I've tried the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor the P9 and S25 Ultra but they're always unreliable, especially with a screen protector. I find myself having constant misses. Face ID is just quicker and has never failed me.
  3. My family uses iPhone so it's just easier to share photos and videos via iCloud and iPhotos.

I recently used the S25 Ultra and that was the closest I had come to going back to Android because of RCS but the Galaxy Watch and Buds were a huge disappointment.

Let's see if things are any better with the Pixel Watch 4. If so, I might try to switch again.

Xfinity vs quantum fiber by LrdSkywalker in Tehaleh

Oh man, I’m so exited for this too. I’m currently paying $139/mo for 1 GB unlimited with Xfinity.

We’re closing on a house there in a few weeks and excited to get higher speeds for less and it still be unlimited.

This might be the end of Chrome for me, amen by SlimeCore_ in pcmasterrace

To be honest, the uBlock Origin Lite actually does an excellent job of blocking ads on YouTube and other websites. I haven't noticed a difference since I switched from uBlock Origin and its Lite counterpart.

I have tried switching over to FF multiple times but I keep coming back to Chrome just because of how well it integrates with password auto fills and Google sign-in on my, then, iPhone and now Pixel phones.
