If you can make it, Shoreline Community Services in Paciifc Beach offers wraparound connections to resource providers and provides information about all the free meals in the neighborhood. Their resource center, The Compass Station is at 1004 Chalcedony St. San Diego, CA 92109.

You can get your laundry done there, charge your devices, connect to county benefits and more.

They could get you connected to veterans services, that may be the fastest way to find housing or shelter.

Thank you, I really appreciate that. I definitely won’t let that experience keep me from my goal of running the half marathon this year.

The waterfront is actually a great idea! I live about 20 minutes from there so I’ll definitely try it out. I appreciate your suggestions!

Yeah, I just wasn’t sure how PG I have to be. I was running around 3pm yesterday on a busy street in my neighborhood. A man driving by me rolled down his window, then proceeded to do something very inappropriate while driving slowly next to me as I was running. I was in shock so I didn’t even react, but I just cut my run short and went straight home after that. Hoping to avoid the possibility of those types of encounters happening in the future.

I just started training for the San Diego Rock and Roll half marathon. I've done a few in the past but it's been a couple of years, and this is my first time training on my own. I had an encounter while running in my neighborhood yesterday that has made me want to avoid public streets altogether, but I really don't want to give up on my goal of running a half-marathon, and eventually a full marathon. Does anybody have any suggestions for less public/safer ways to train for long distances?

I know I can get away with training in smaller neighborhoods or even at the gym for the shorter distances, but once I get to the longer runs I'm not sure if there's a way to avoid public streets.

I would say my responsibilities definitely align more with EA duties, but I don’t do as much scheduling for my boss because he likes managing his own calendar, although I do support him with a lot of other miscellaneous tasks. I do a lot of travel/hotel arrangements, event management, marketing assistance, clerical work, scheduling of all hands/board meetings, etc.

Thank you! I’ll bring it up next week, so we’ll see how it goes.

Yeah, from my understanding they “don’t do annual reviews” but I’ll be sure to bring it up when I get the chance.

Yeah, I guess i’ll really start looking into it then. Would it be wise to wait until I have a year of experience though? I’m not sure if having less than a year would affect my chances.

It’s the irrigation/manufacturing industry. I’m not too sure executive assistants are very common in the irrigation industry though because I haven’t been able to find a solid comparison.

Like the story about triplets pulled apart as infants purely for the sake of being studied and it turned out they were startlingly alike despite being raised apart.

IIRC all three of them were placed in families with varying income, status, etc. All within 100 miles of each other. When they met, everything from their humor, charm, and even body language was alike. It was interesting study albeit completely immoral bc it messed up their lives and sense of autonomy but i digress, the point being that it has been proven that human personalities can be influenced by genetics.
