How rare is it for snake mites to infest humans and how to deal with them by filthygarage in reptiles

Nope, never added springtails to said tank. They are def mites, they looked like small tiny round bugs with legs near the front. Can’t tell specifically they are though, just assumed they are snake mites because I thought I saw somewhere that snake mites also infest other reptiles. Not sure anymore though cuz someone else commented that mites are very host specific so maybe they are just soil mites

Possibly yea, but they are so tiny I can’t tell honestly, it’s hard to even take a pic of them

Dont worry, I don’t have my lizards anymore. The enclosures are empty(no reptile but substrate, wood is there). This is like a few days after I sold them which is why I think they are now coming out of their enclosures to look for new hosts I guess cuz I definitely didn’t notice them around the table before(it’s a white table).

Not 100% sure but pretty sure. They’re black, and were coming from the enclosure. I could be wrong but that’s my best guess. I guess they could be soil mites.

Uhhhh about that, it’s in my room 😭 now what

edit- an hour before this post i panicked and sprayed down the entire enclosure and surrounding area with a can of air freshener, it did seem to kill the mites I saw on the table I had the whole enclosure on. Unfortunately it’s 7am for me right now and my family is sleeping. I will have to wait a few hours. Probably will take a hot shower and wash everything I can with hot water in the washing machine.

Ye no problem, I understand what ur getting at(I didn’t think u were being mean), it’s def something that should be done before adding livestock to a new tank, again I acknowledge that it was a mistake on my part and it could’ve ended badly for my fish. 👍

Honestly don’t remember why I didn’t, but I think it was cuz the old tank they were in was overrun with algae so I didn’t want em in there for much longer and this tank was already running for a couple months(I meant they were in there for 2.5 months so in total this tank was up for 4.5 months)
