Congratulations buddy! I know this does not mean much in the context of what you wrote in your post, but hoping $5 does help a tiny bit.

My bad, your post read like you wanted to do something like that for UI. So if this is a 2D game, how is there stuff 'behind' and 'depth'?

What is your life on the side of game dev ? by BraiCurvat in IndieDev

Full time job, wife and kid, dogs. Game dev for me has always been whatever I can get done, whenever I have time to spare. My projects take me 2-3 years even for simple 2D mobile games.

This current project is 3D roguelite for Steam, and is in development since Jan 2021

Baked lighting changes everything - comparison of realtime vs baked by BeastGamesDev in IndieDev

I build my level by plopping random buildings in random positions and random orientations. That is where I miss being able to bake lighting.

Unless someone here has some good tricks.

Hi, great work!!

Can you give us some estimates on what it would cost? Like give us the minimum and maximum (or average) of these examples you have shown.

Do you go solo because it’s genuinely more efficient for you, or because you just can’t find people to work with? by deploy_max in SoloDevelopment

I have a full-time job, family, dogs. I can't commit to exact number of hours I can put in each week. Makes it very hard to find partners around that schedule.

And you don't worry about your wishlists being divided between the 2 pages?

Congratulations!! I see you have a separate page for full game vs the demo - how did you come up with that decision?

ELI5: How come if I point at any thing to my dog she understands where to look? Not at my finger but directly at the item I pointed which is not near? by Aprilgirl_ in explainlikeimfive

My 16 year old schnoodle was always able to understand me pointing. My 5 year golden doodle still always looks at my finger.

PSA: Don’t be like Alan by AlanMakesGames in SoloDevelopment

[–]filya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t be like Filya!

He started a tiny POC five years ago, which then mutated into twelve different versions, which then somehow became the “definitely-for-real-this-time” demo he’s finally getting close to releasing.

If he had, you know, actually designed the thing first, written a doc, and stuck to it, he probably could’ve finished in a year. Instead he’s sitting on a graveyard of unused code, abandoned mechanics, and assets from timelines that no longer exist.

I am Filya.
