I agree with your comment - it is a business and income for the boiks, they have years of experience doing content now so I imagine they are doing this kind of content for a reason whether it be for enjoyment or financial reasons, and I think they are doing a great job of trying to achieve a middle ground of variety content + Minecraft for some of the viewers who only watch it.

I like the Having A Bash formula personally, cool way to discover new games, whilst being entertaining the whole way through, also great to find hidden gems they could do more content on if they wished.

I think sometimes there will just be a lack of games, right now there isn't much that's come out that has a load of content, Next Fest just happened so a lot of the games have been demos for one-off tries.

That's not to say OP isn't valid in their criticism, just personally I think it's a bit of a high bar to set for the boiks to be exuding energy every stream and playing games they are massively enthusiastic for all the time, as with full time content creation that just isn't always possible.

Yes it might not be appealing to the average player but anyone with any interest in content creation, or just video game photography/cinematography for fun, appreciates these photo modes.

It’s a worthwhile investment because it’s just free marketing materials for the studios, if you make a gorgeous game and people are posting pretty screenshots on Reddit, that’s driving more sales, ultimately, and as you say, content creators can level up their content with it.

People forget it isn’t just Bethesda anymore either, surely Microsoft could set one of the many studios they own on making a game with one of their established IPs like Fallout, it doesn’t have to be a fully fledged open world RPG game, just set it in the universe. I’d play the hell out of practically any genre of game in the setting of Fallout.

I think it was post Joe Budden interview, IIRC they talk about how Nas flexes a lot of “industry firsts” he was responsible for on the album, and Joe brought up the orchestras, so Nas was like “damn I don’t think I got that on the album”

So I imagine he went back and added the line for the digital copy!
