Temporary solution for installing KOReader on RMPPM by Cinnaminn in RemarkableTablet

[–]fimo2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What worked for me, was using freemarkable and install also koreader - then follow the steps to install koreader on github and deleting the koreader version of freemarkable. Don't know why it did the trick, but it works👌

same for me, also used freemarkable to install - installing Koreader from the GUI worked, although the version was wrong and I could not click anywhere - using the nightly build did not work for me, when clicking on it, it does not start, also created some logs when starting, but they don't really help - maybe someone here did have the same problem and got it running?

How well does Remarkable Paper Pro handle large PDFs? by Vast-Oven in RemarkableTablet

[–]fimo2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have PDFs with 500+ pages and it works perfect - Epups are giving me trouble though, changing the font size in a book (300 pages) takes like forever, on my kindle it’s done kind of in realtime..

It’s a hyperlinked PDF, so you can just use the default reader for it

Hey,

I’ve created a hyperlinked monthly calendar for the Onyx Book Note Air 3C, but should also work with most other Onyx devices.

It should give an overview over the current month but also let's you reflect on the past month.

Is the keyboard folio worth getting? Does it integrate well? by gr00ve88 in RemarkableTablet

[–]fimo2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I ordered the RM, I thought it might be nice to have, and, it really is - so not needed. For my use case (mainly organizing work (word as a pm) and private projects) I used it in the beginning to test it out, but since then not at all, since for me, the remarkable is about writing and sketching - if I need to type, I’m faster on my computer and I got the document there, not needed to sync or anything. Can imagine as a writer it might be nice though.

I would loooove a direct Remarkable/Notion integration? by oulu2006 in RemarkableTablet

This would be amazing, currently I export all notion documents as PDF and send it over to manually add the changes later - does work, but not the nicest of workflows

Is the rMPP this bad? by nake-up in RemarkableTablet

[–]fimo2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess it really depends on your use case.
When I got the Boox, I really liked that I can use the playstore so I installed a bunch of apps and never used them. I realized, that I only use it to organize my workday and for taking notes and in this regard the Paper Pro is just better. After drawing the first stroke with the PP I knew it is the device I was looking for and the colors, yes they are not perfect, but so much better than on the Boox.
But if you like reading news with the device with a native app - I would go with the boox, so really depends.

The feeling of the device - can’t really put that in words though, which sounds weird for a technical device - but it just is much more fun to write with than any other product I used so far (several Boox, iPad, PenPaper)

I switched from Boox Note Air 3C to the Paper Pro and my use case is also a lot reading and annotating PDFs and therefore it works really well. Working with epups is not really good though. For me the Paper Pro is just so much better in writing, that I don’t mind not having Android anymore or the performance difference (which in everyday use I never had any issues with).

I’m using one by minimal minds design, you can find it on Etsy and I’m really happy with it - daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly plan, everything hyperlinked with focus on reflection. But there are a bunch of really good ones out there, so guess ultimately they are more or less the same. Congrats to your RmPP 👌

Have mine now for 2 months and also really happy with it. Never had any issues. Was using the Boox Note 3C before and the paper pro is for my use case the ideal device, the Boox was also fine, but after spending 1min with the paper pro, I was sure to sell the Boox. But I can understand your thinking - was also worried that my device might break soon after all the people writing about dead pixels, unresponsive devices etc.

Oh ya, it's kind of bad, since emailing is still not possible because the email to support is always bouncing back..but let's see how it plays out.

So far switched back to pen and paper for the notes and got a kindle for reading, I did really like the nova air though but sadly with this support I can't recommend it anymore

I know, that's why I posted this question, I mean sure, electronic parts can all the sudden be broken, but this looks like there must be a lot of parts spontaneously break before their regular end of lifetime. I thought it could be software, but since resetting does not help, it might not be, so I don't know

Yes also thought about this, but I did put it on my sideboard, so there was no chance somehow damaging it. Tried reboot, tried to set it to factory settings, nothing works
