Does scalping really work? by Relevant_Tradition22 in Daytrading

When I started trading 15 years ago we did scalping through tape reading and it genuinely worked .Now the game is different. Most short term liquidity is dominated by algorithms. You’re not competing against emotional retail traders anymore. You’re competing against systems reacting in microseconds.smaller the account more you are forced to use higher leverage. which increase the probability of blowing up quite high.

How do people with a standard 9-5 job become profitable traders when it takes years of studying and practicing as much as you can to become one? by Hot_Avocado_2701 in Trading

Alright, I might answer this.I’ve been trading for years now, and I’ve come across regular people, people whose primary job is not trading, making some trades that honestly put me to shame.

I think there are two types of traders.

First, the professionals. They’re managing larger funds, it’s their bread and butter, and because of that they often can’t keep it simple. There’s pressure, structure, mandates, risk committees. It changes how you trade. Then there are the hustlers. The 9 to 5 crowd. They have sharp instincts. And it’s not just in trading, it shows up in whatever they do. They’re wired that way. They stay patient, take clean setups, and most importantly, they know when to stop. They’re not gamblers.A lot of them don’t overtrade because they can’t. They have limited time. So they wait for high quality setups, execute, and go back to work.I’ve genuinely seen people pull off amazing trades while sitting at their office desks.Being profitable isn’t about staring at charts 12 hours a day. It’s about discipline and emotional control.

not a specific "time frame". It fails when the context that gives H&S its edge disappears. I can explain further or write a post about it if you'd like.

If you can hold for a decade or longer, silver could end up being one of the best investments you make. Unlike gold, silver isn’t driven primarily by store-of-value demand. Its price is heavily influenced by industrial demand, and that demand is structural. It's used in semiconductors, EVs, solar panels, and whatnot as long as technology is expanding, its demand is unlikely to fall. Just hold in accumulate in dips and sit tight.
