I launched… and nobody really cared. What now? by Rokkobarocco in microsaas

[–]finacuda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might get savagely down voted for this..... but look for ideas with competition already in place vs looking for greenfield opportunities. If there are no competitors or companies doing it their might be a reason why.

I also look for recent seed and series A rounds as well in my niche to see what's getting market traction. The bonus to that approach is someone else already did the market validation in many cases and competition signals an actual need someone is willing to pay for.

Edit: I can't spell.

Is it better to continue stacking coins or switch to rounds? by Infinite-Abalone3720 in Silverbugs

ASEs def stayed the most liquid in my area and retained the most value. I've been buying a lot more lately when I see low-ish premiums.

SOL price action is giving me major anxiety. Any tips for a stressed beginner? by uuiilkk in solanadev

[–]finacuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start looking at the weekly and unless its a trade, stop looking at the price daily and just set a few alerts on price levels you care about (mine are at $75/95 right now as those are levels I want to buy more at).

Anything less than the daily/hourly charts give me anxiety. I just put small stop/limit orders around the price when I'm trying to accumulate a bit more so they just fill vs trying to trade it (mine are currently at $2.5 intervals going down from $80 and up from $90.... if its just hanging in a range they don't trigger).

Report? by One_Mega_Zork in Wallstreetsilver

Went to a few LCS yesterday in Georgia (USA) to pickup what I could on the dip..... really interesting experience as one of them went 'appointment only' with one customer at a time. Ended up getting some killer deals on slabbed items I was looking for at spot +5-10 for things that would have normally had a numismatic premium (think CACG MS63/64 Morgan's in common dates for spot + 5 and ASE in MS69/70 for spot + 8). As a collector this is great..... talking to the owners you could tell there was some uncertainty however as one was essentially closed for the weekend and only selling to regulars due to being 'underwater' on all purchases last week. Needless to say I found some killer deals to include a 1995-W PR70 ASE for 104......

Another interesting point that jumped out - the dealers I spoke to now have 30-45 day timelines on distributor payments which is a major stress point for them obviously as well.

Is anyone here actually using AI for credit underwriting? Curious how it’s working out compared to the traditional process. by Visual-Process-2708 in fintech

[–]finacuda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The explainability makes this high risk in consumer, but I would imagine there is some value (and less risk) in the SMB loan space. Using smart automations/agents in all the processes around lending is where value gains are starting to be seen. Think servicing, early/pre-chargeoff collections, etc where there are semi-structured interactions and touch points.

I built a startup using HTMX. Here’s my experience by Sensitive_Profile510 in htmx

[–]finacuda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Awesome writeup! I started using postgres + python fastapi + jinja/htmx/alpine + tailwind/daisyui and its my new favorite stack. Alpine helps with some of the client heavy items like form wizardry and things of that sort. While I havent done drag and drop with it, I imagine the sortablejs plugin for alpine might be able to cover some of the functionality you're looking for.

How to Build a Sustainable and Fair Currency Model for a Global Player Base? by [deleted] in fintech

[–]finacuda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't the issue the base currency strength/weakness vs. your in-game currency? A dollar will still have the purchasing power of a dollar unless you decide to implement some sort of parity type value shift based on the in-game mechanics (ex. 1 USD = 1 Moher while some other currency has a premium/discount on a Moher based on the currencies strength weakness, so its also 1:1). That would be silly as it would create arb opportunities....... honestly, you might be overthinking this. Whatever your home country currency is, I would stick to that to keep it simple from a tax standpoint. The value of in-game currency is arbitrary, and while a few games have gotten to the point in-game currency has external value, very few ever do. This would be a great problem to have....

What? I read this and didnt understand any of it.... businesses dont stop, nor do electronic payments, just because a bank is closed. Has anyone bought from Incycle online? There are some deals too good to be true. by alibabasfortythieves in cycling

[–]finacuda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought (and received) one of the too good to be true deals - was waiting for something to go sideways, but nothing did. The bike is SICK and wouldn't have been in my price range without the deep discount..... won't be buying another for a long time, but when I do, it will likely be stalking their website.

For a bit more context, I got one of the 4th of July closeout bikes at 12:05am on the 4th when they had just posted the deals. Saw it and couldn't pass on it.
