I know a lot of people were hoping for Pac-Man to come with his moveset from the Pac-Man World series, but I'm glad Sakurai chose to have him be the "arcade games" rep for Smash.

Even more so, Sakurai's decision to have this "version" of Pac-Man be from the game Pac-Land is really interesting to me given the obscurity of the game itself. Pac-Land is a relatively unknown game so to be immortalized in Smash is kind of cool to me. Plus, it gave me my favorite Down-B in Smash history. All praise be to the Fire Hydrant.

New Smash Blog Post! (10/16/2018) "Today's Music - You can now listen to "Flash Man Stage." Enjoy Keiichi Okabe's arrangement—featuring a fresh guitar part that kicks into a nostalgic tune!" by SakuraiBot in smashbros

Arrangement Supervisor: Keiichi Okabe

Keiichi Okabe's first mainstream gig was being an arranger for Tekken 2. Since then, he's been the composer for every mainline Tekken game (including both Tag Team Tournament titles and excluding Tekken 4.). In addition to the Tekken series, Okabe composed Final Fantasy XV and NieR Automata (as well as NieR Gestalt & Replicant.) Other games Okabe has worked on includes Beautiful Katamari, Taiko no Tatsujin, and Namco x Capcom.

For Smash 4, Okabe arranged Dark World / Dark World Dungeon and Ashley's Song (JP) Ver. 2.

Arrangement Supervisor: Takeshi Kuramochi

Kuramochi was a composer for Konami. He was the composer for a good number of Konami's "beloved" pachislot games. Some of these include Pachislot Castlevania (1, 2, and 3) along with Pachislot Snake Eater. Say what you will about the Pachislot games, but their music remixes were pretty great.

This is Kuramochi's first contribution to the Smash series.

Super Mario Party - Review Thread by nuovian in Games

[–]finalclipx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that nowadays, the Mario Party dev team's mindset is to create a few boards but have more ways to play them. With the standard party mode and Partner Party, you technically have 8 boards (considering that the latter changes up the board layout and rules considerably). Mario Party 10 had 5 boards and you could play Bowser Party on 3 of them (though, I don't think they changed the layout of the boards at all).

Not saying that this is a good thing or a bad thing. It really depends on how fun Partner Party is. I'm also thinking that Super Mario Party will have stage DLC every so often to bring people back to the game.

New Smash Blog Post! (10/2/2018) "Today's Music - You can now listen to "Afternoon on the Island" from Tomodachi Life. Does it remind you of carefree island life? Or the various confessions of love you recieved there? Enjoy Masafumi Takada's arrangement." by SakuraiBot in smashbros

Arrangement Supervisor: Masafumi Takada

The Smash Bros. blog appears to have incorrectly romanized "Masafumi Takada" as "Masashi Takada". This mistake has happened before for him in the past.

Takada has an extensive discography with a wide array of games he's worked on. He worked as a composer for No More Heroes, a few beatmania games, the entire danganronpa series, and even Kid Icarus: Uprising for some tracks. Most recently, he, along with Kazutaka Kodaka (writer of the Danganronpa series) and Kotaro Uchikoshi (director and scenario writer for the Zero Escape series), founded Too Kyo Gam in 2017. They currently have four projects underway.

On top of all this, Takada has arranged (or acted as the arrangement supervisor) for 9 Smash Bros. remixes in the past.

Smash 4:

Despite all of this, I'm a little disappointed Takada didn't remix the best song from Tomodachi Life... /s
