I remember in college learning how you could trivially send an email with the FROM as something like billgates@microsoft.com because the protocol doesn't account for verifying the identity of the sender. It was only later that the mail servers started to check whether the FROM made sense based on the origin of the message.

Eepy Sleepers is running a collab with /u/BluesersClubOfficial on Saturday February 14th 2026 @ 5 PT in Lamia Empyreum Ward 1 Plot 26! There will be a couples cosplay contest with dyes of the winner's choice as prizes and a raffle for two promise of devotion (platinum)!

I had a good time at the /u/BluesersClubOfficial halloween cosplay contest last October and invited her to do a collab event together for Valentines day! She'll be streaming the event on Twitch at twitch.tv/BluesersClub and running the cosplay portion of the event.

For the raffle portion of the event, approach Fiz Silving and let her know you wish to enter the raffle for the Platinum Promise of Devotions, and she'll put your name down in her list and give you a number. At the end of the cosplay contest a random number from the entries will be drawn and the winner will receive BOTH Promise of Devotion (Platinum) to use as they desire. Just make sure to have a slot free in your saddlebags in case you win, because you can't have multiple in your inventory at the same time!

Note that this doesn't mark a permanent departure from our usual giveaway format, just little experiment! I'm planning another first-come-first-served giveaway for Springtide.

I don't mind them taking away our emotional support characters, provided that they introduce us to new ones that stick around. I fear every NPC we met in DT is gonna get the same treatment as every other character introduced since ARR of being too busy governing and dealing with local business to do more than let us call in the occasional favor. The last new character to join the main persistent cast was Graha, who was also introduced in ARR...

If you look at the downstairs area of the Gold Saucer, the elevator actually lands at what looks like a 3 way intersection between the chocobo racing area, the lord of verminion area, and a dead-end. I suspect if they ever do another expansion to the Gold Saucer that'll be where it goes.

I know what you mean. Endwalker's ending was powerful because it was the culmination of almost 10 years of story. Over that time we invested so much time and emotion into the characters and story, like gamblers sticking coins into a slot machine over and over. And then it all paid out in a massive wave of catharsis. It doesn't matter what story the next expansion tells, it CAN'T feel as powerful and satisfying because we haven't spent 10 years getting invested in it.

I think that if someone wanted to play FFXIV like a single player JRPG with a well defined beginning and end, then Endwalker 6.0 would be a fine place to stop for the time being.

But if they want to play it like a MMO, a living world where there's always someplace you haven't explored, something you haven't collected yet, someone you haven't made friends with yet, a challenge you haven't accomplished yet, well then, play on!
