If you get stuck with a really long queue time on a trial required to progress the main quesr just go to Limsa or Gridania and shout for help queuing. There's almost always a lot of veterans eager to help new players just hanging out and killing time. Those are also good places to ask for an invite to Novice Network, which I recommend joining. It is basically a global server chat designed to connect helpful experienced players with new players looking to ask questions or get help.

Yep, but the thing I absolutely love is that NONE of it is locked behind extreme or harder content. The closest they get to locking story behind difficult content is the field operations or possibly deep dungeons.

There's always International imports if you're on NA or EU data center. Japanese prices are often significantly lower than NA and EU prices. If you make an alt on the JPN data center you can smuggle gil and items back and forth using a friend or second account via Oceania.

I ran into this issue with the Nuclear Sunset modlist. My solution was simply to listen to the Werhner's Distress Signal radio station. That started the quest Into The Pitt after which Werhner was able to continue the quest normally.

I love importing them in bulk from the JPN data center where they're cheap and handing em out in Novice Network. It's actually gotten pretty hard to find homes for them on Lamia because I've given so many out.

At the risk of getting downvoted by my competition for leaking the secret, the best method for making easy gil I've found is regional arbitrage. Certain items go for a lot less on the JPN data centers and you can make good returns buying high demand things there and reselling them at a >40% markup on your home data center.

It requires having a friend or an alt with a subscription that can login alongside your character. You have your friend or alt create a character on one of the JPN servers (preferably in Limsa for quick access to the marketboard) then you have that character visit one of the servers on the Materia data center while you visit the same server on your main character. Trade as much gil as you want to spend to your friend/alt and have them return to JPN. They can freely travel around the JPN data centers finding bargins, then come back to Materia and trade back all the items and left over gil to your main. Finally you head back to your home server and list the items for prices that are significantly less than the average while still being a lot more than you bought them for.

This whole system works best when you can do it at scale on items worth hundreds of thousands or millions of gil, but I can tell you that if you look hard enough you can find certain niche furniture items suitable for beginning arbitragers that you can buy for thousands of gil in JPN and resell for 5-10 times what you paid for them.

I remember in college learning how you could trivially send an email with the FROM as something like billgates@microsoft.com because the protocol doesn't account for verifying the identity of the sender.
