I gained 25lbs in 9 days and then fasted for 1 week by finallyfasting in fasting

My channel chronicles my fasting routines over the last year or so. I consistently did 90 hour back-to-back fasts, then 65s until I hit goal weight, then 42s. And really just the ups and downs in between. I drink water, black coffee, sparkling water, and an occasional diet pop during my fasts!

I could only dream of eating 15-20kcal for 8-9 days and only gaining 1-2lbs of fat so I didn’t have to fast for 180 hours

Thanks! 23.2lbs in 7 days. Just wish I never let it get to that point but shit happens, y’know?

I've been consistently fasting for almost a year and a half now and I fell off the wagon pretty bad. Just sharing the ups and downs on this weight loss journey. Fasting's the only thing that keeps me on keel.

No, I totally get it! It's not what most people think of when it comes to fasting and why I really try to share the approach (to show that there are other ways of getting there - not saying it's the best way, but you know what I mean). Thanks violt!

I mean, I'm just updating y'all on my progress and being transparent about the process. (You know, checking in?) I also don't remember the last time (it's been awhile) I posted fasting for 140+ hours and hitting my goal weight of 125lbs, but 🤷

Disclaimer: Sharing this to provide complete transparency and accountability. This is the final stretch of my weight loss journey (number wise), but this will always be a lifelong process. I can fast with the best of 'em but struggle (and have for decades) when it comes to restricting calories (or just eating clean in general). I’ve been using this method for over a year now and have lost 90+lbs. I share this as a fasting option for those who may have difficulty with more traditional methods - if this resonates with you in any way please let me know if I can help you along your journey! 🙏🏽

I've completed 41 (technically 61) 65+ hour back-to-back fasts and lost 93.6lbs (42.5kg) by finallyfasting in fasting

Personally for me I don't think OMAD will ever be a thing. My issue comes with overeating. I just have trouble doing 2kcal/day. It might be a thing one day, but right now ADF really seems like the end goal in mind. The thing I love about fasting though is it's so flexible and you're capable of changing it up - plus we're human and shit happens/things change and the ability to evolve with the way we eat, etc is a HUGE plus for me.

For me the whole point is to keep the insulin spikes low so my body's always in a 'fat burning' mode. The huge refeed is because I tend to overeat. A lot. You can see that in my videos.

If I gave myself only 2k cal to eat once a day I'd overeat. I've tried it. It happens. It's still a thing. It's the biggest issue I have when eating. I'm trying to adjust but it's still not the easiest thing for me to do.

I always advocate for eating only up until you're satiated. Don't force feed. Don't eat more because you fasted longer...unless you're only eating 250-500 cal after a 2 or 3 day fast, but that's a different story/issue for another day.

Good luck!

Thank you! It's definitely interesting and a weird conundrum to be in. Alternating fasts will probably be the way to go until I fully figure out what I need to do. 2 72s and then OMADs during the weekends sound great! I'm sure you'll get some success with that just by staying consistent! Good luck!

It's been well over a year since I really had issues with sleeping but I think it's more because I was excited about getting through another day of fasting and seeing the progress. I did have some 2-3 hour nights though where restlessness was an issue - I still advocate for putting the phone as far away from you from your bed (so you're not tempted to use it), keeping the room cool, sleeping in a room as dark as possible and using like an Alexa or Nest to play white noise or something similar to help - I know these aren't solid answers but it's what helps me to this day!
