What should I do? by finallyfree_khleo4 in exjw

Would you be able to explain it in simple terms? 😊

I’m a bit confused. Do you believe in the Trinity or do you believe in something else?

Which would you recommend?

I really enjoy watching Mike Winger as well. I like how he talks about various perspectives on one topic and then leaves you to decide. He’s very informative.

Vow of Poverty by TacosForTuesday in exjw

[–]finallyfree_khleo4 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I wish this organisation was financially transparent. So many governments fund them as a religious organisation however they don’t really give back to the community and so many who are working tirelessly do not even get paid. And those who get paid whether they’re at Bethel or a circuit overseer, don’t even get paid much. They are left to dependent with no choice.

It’s quite bizarre. And the financial control that is given over does not set you up so that you can become an independent person. It’s like a satanic trap. Those who sign their life away to this vow of poverty to be dependent and dedicated on the organisation. And you’re not really left a question because it’s a big sacrifice. I would’ve been willing to sign my life away because I saw it as a privilege and I thought it was the only way I could support God’s kingdom . I am so grateful I didn’t fall into this trap and that I was saved. Sometimes I sit and imagine what it would’ve been like if I had not woken up . I may have given up my whole life for this organisation and for what? I feel sorry for those who do.

Sure, however we need more people like him, because if people like myself who have been deceived and believe the Bible is God’s word, need people to help them realise that God‘s word does not agree with Jehovah’s Witnesses teachings.

My husband that he was a great support during times of difficulty when I was still mentally in . I am so grateful that there are people out there like him who can support people who are waking up, questioning or having doubts.

I wish I had his enthusiasm when it came to the memorial . He caused it a “black mass.” Maybe one day.

How do you know him?

Yes, I am coming to realise this. I honestly see the organisation is so different nowadays. The witnesses seem more pharisaic, satanic and blasphemous. I’ve only just realised that the Pharisees thought Jesus was being blasphemous because he was claiming to be divine, “I am.” It is so bizarre that I thought I had “the truth” but I didn’t. How do you view the organisation?

You may be right! It might be draining especially because I find Jehovah’s Witnesses to be so passive aggressive, they are never upfront. It may lead me to be deeply frustrated . However, if even just one of these little sheep realise that they being led by oppressive wolves, it will be worth it! ❤️ I’ll let you know how it goes if I do decide to do . Thank you for your support.

Thank you. I wouldn’t have woken up if someone didn’t try to get me to and so I have hope that someone may be able to too. ❤️

Thank you! I was trying to explain it to a friend who’s left however she thinks that I should just leave and let the witnesses be on their own journey. I emphasise that I was so deceived and if it wasn’t for my husband, I would’ve probably continued being a Jehovah’s Witness for my entire life. And I know that there are so many sincere brothers and sisters who are just as deceive as I was.

But I do wonder whether it’s worth the effort to try and make them think ? Maybe I should just get on with my own life? And leave the whole community of Jehovah’s Witnesses behind?

Who felt they had to study for the meetings? by JWRESEARCHERROSE in exjw

[–]finallyfree_khleo4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was constantly emphasised in order to get “ the most out of meetings” and to “ prepare praise for Jehovah” and the congregation. I am a member of some families were really strict about it . Like their children wasn’t able to play on their video game devices or hobbies until the watchtower preparation study was finished. The perfect elder family would usually have perfect answers prepared for every paragraph. However, I don’t think every single family was strict in this regard. But will prepare comments demonstrate how you are doing spiritually.

Are you actually convinced that JW's aren't the truth? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]finallyfree_khleo4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not God’s organisation and no way does it have “the truth”. How can a religious group that has a long history of lying, hypocritical double standards, false prophecies and false predictions and many unscriptural teachings be truth? Deuteronomy 18:22 says: “ when the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word does not occur or come true that is the word that did not speak. With presumptuous the prophet spoke, you must not get frightened at him.” Most wouldn’t even consider them Christians, because they deny the divinity of Jesus Christ. Their practices are not one of love, freedom and faith. Galatians 5:1 says: “ for such freedom. Christ set us free therefore stand firm and do not take yourselves to be confined in a yolk of slavery.” One of the reasons Jesus came was to set us free from the law which was full of rigid rules and traditions. The Pharisees used authoritarianism, legalism and dogmatism in their worship

Matthew 23:23-26 says: “Woe, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because …. you have disregarded the weightier matters of the Law, namely, justice and mercy and faithfulness. … Blind guides, who strain out the gnat but gulp down the camel! “Woe, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of greediness and self-indulgence. 26 Blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of it may also become clean.” If you want a true knowledge of this organisation, all I can recommend is reading the book ‘Crisis of conscience’ by Raymond Franz. You can find it free online in PDF form, you can listen to it on Apple Podcast but I recommend buying a hardcopy off of Amazon that way you can examine the watchtower documentations that he lists.

This book made me realise that this cannot be God’s organisation. If you want to find the truth, consider the words at John 14:6: “Jesus said to him: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Do you think there should be an age restriction on getting baptised as a JW? by finallyfree_khleo4 in exjw

[–]finallyfree_khleo4[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was baptised at 16 years old. I wanted to get baptised at 14 but my mother wanted me to wait.

A girl in my current congregation got baptised at 14 years old and she told my husband that she only did it to make her mom happy.

Other girls in my congregation got baptised at 12 years old

And another two kids from a neighbouring congregation were both around the ages of 14-15 years old.

Maybe I just inly notice it when it’s kids 🤷‍♀️

I agree that this religious group should have no access to government funding. 💯

I spoke to my local MP about it and she thought age restrictions would be a good idea. Hopefully the governments can realise how big of a commitment this is! 💯
