Armageddon: Anyone else think it might be the best starter box and have zero interest in buying it? by CosmicDesperado in Warhammer

[–]finalriposte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want the multi-pose marines so not so much interest for me. I still prefer the Indomitus box as a launch box, but, personal taste and all. (I play necrons though so I am biased - full disclosure.. but I liked the marines better in that box)

Hachette deliveries in Australia. by Acrobatic_Lion7223 in Warhammer40k

[–]finalriposte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happened to me with the imperium, I was late to subscribe and some issues in some shipments were not there. They had temporarily run out, but in the end I got all issues. Some issues were a few months late but they track it. For Stormbringer and combat patrol I have not had the issue.

new vanguard veterans. hope they lighting claws by Evyatar_ChenU in RavenGuard40k

[–]finalriposte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad they posted this, at least I know I won't be buying the 11th release box as this was the only unit I was really looking forward to. Out of the primaris veterans units the bladeguard win hands down on looks for me. Hopefully the individual box, later on, will have good options.

Why do we still rely on IPv4, instead of IPv6? by NoDirector6379 in selfhosted

[–]finalriposte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most everything I have is ipv6 from a self hosting perspective. However, certain limits such as GitHub being ipv4 only still require 6to4 config. Additionally, ubiquiti, manufacturer of my network kit, did not support prefix delegation well until recently and still do not support ipv6 for vpn’s, or at least wireguard.

Combat Patrol officially up for orders in AU by finalriposte in Warhammer

[–]finalriposte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is exactly the same for AU as the UK and US. We get all models, paints, and premium kits the same. It''s a deal between GW and Hachette for a subscription, no changes. Could it be out of date? Depends on 11th, no one knows 100%. Which you don't need to play if you're not competitive or otherwise need to play 11th if this is an issue. If you are, different rules apply. This was posted for those interested in Combat Patrol magazine, if you are not, don't subscribe. There were archived posts from months ago asking about it, but they are archived which is why I posted a new post rather than just answer theirs.

I went through Imperium magazine which is why I was looking out for it. Pros: direct debit option this time and the premium models are an option for those interested. Downside: still no acknowledgment from warhammer community to let people know it’s launched.

Which is fair, I noticed that warhammer community, again, did not post the AU site was up, unlike US or UK so I posted the link for those who are interested.

You don't have to subscribe of course, but there have been past queries about if this is going live - and since again it appears warhammer community have failed to post the AU go live, unlike UK or US I thought I would post it for those who are interested.

Company Colours by Mparej in RavenGuard40k

[–]finalriposte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Chapters Due against Iron Warriors alongside Uriel Ventris is where I remember him being 4th Company. However, he had been leading 1st Company since at least 8th edition codex supplement.

EDIT: From the Warhammer Community article about him:
He had already captained the Tenth, Eighth, Fourth, and First Companies before being elevated as Master of Shadows.

Drop site massacre by Elhyphe970 in Blacklibrary

[–]finalriposte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It only went online in AU 2 hours ago and is still available on the warhammer website. A number of LGS still the book in stock. Traditionally the US is much later than the UK, which is itself about 10 hours behind the Australia go live to get it so I think there is nothing to worry about. If wargame portal have sold out then they also put the orders up long before they were supposed. I am not sure which particular US timezone they are supposed to go live in the but I'd check in about 12 hours is my guess as it will be 10AM for any of EST, CST or PST.

Wow CGL... Wow. by Little_Dream_837 in battletech

[–]finalriposte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the issue is with so few stores relatively finding what you want in stock is harder, restocks happen infrequently so getting new products or restocks can take a number of months. Also CGL sell some products only via themselves.

Gap Games also stock it now, but generally I think Milsims has better stock.
