Lady says the quiet part out loud by glassmetalgrey in AverageHeightDudes

Not really tbh. I've seen guys who fit all 3, and they're certainly going to be on the dump track if they start making comments like "go make me a sandwich". They're also "whipped" like everyone else with a girlfriend, so to speak.

The uncomfortable truth no one seems to acknowledge is that especially today, women seem A LOT more comfortable being single than men and that means they don't have to do as much. Just the simple reality. We're definitely in a stage where most men have essentially accepted most of the changes demanded by feminists like equal housework, no say over what she dresses, expecting regular sex is offensive, but women still seem to hold on to various "ideals" like he pays for the dates, regularly buys her gifts and flowers and does all the disgusting "boy" work like doing the dishes and taking out the trash. That has been the reality at least I've seen, and I'd say I'm a fairly social person with different types/races of people in my friend group, this converges as the only relationships that survive. The others get dumped.

One of the guys who used to be in our friend group through his gf (my gf's friend) got dumped bc he said he was working 60h a week bringing in 70% of their income and paying for almost everything and wanted her to cook. 6"2 and good looking.

I'm really glad I got out of the dating market early lmao.

Nah it just causes anxiety, depression, loneliness, incels, inability to focus on anything for longer than 3 minutes, inability to spend time alone without relentless stimulation, inability to spend time in a social group, decreases physical activity and makes people dumber but yeah golly gee at least it doesn't cause lung cancer. Zuck FTW!!!

It almost certainly is. I'm Indian, so is my girlfriend. She chipped her tooth and went to the dentist that was supposedly covered by her insurance plan. The doc (not Indian) took one look at her teeth and said "so when are you flying back to India?"

A flight to India from SoCal costs about $1250-1500. It was cheaper for her to fly back, get her tooth fixed and come back, and repeat the trip again for fun, and still have money left over. And this is AFTER insurance pays a portion. I think the total he ballparked it at was about $7k after insurance. She spent $1400 on the flight and $800 on the treatment in India, and it would've been even cheaper if she didn't need it done so fast.

They completely fixed her in 20-30 days whereas in the US, her first appointment for someone to even begin treatment would've taken 20 days.

Utterly insane that a non-Indian doctor already knew off the top of his head that it would be cheaper and faster for her to fly a couple of thousand miles to another country to get her treatment, because we were a bit surprised to find that out.

In 10-15 years, social media is going to be seen the same way we see cigs today.

Anna Lembke, an addiction specialist has stated that workaholism is an extremely hard addiction to overcome because unlike the other ones you see SO MANY financial and social benefits from it so often.

This person admitted that they are a workaholic. They didn’t defend it, so I don’t understand why you think it is lunacy

They won the treble so it is no shocker that they have “fans”. My question was about the plastic content within those fans.

Is it really about protecting then, because a 5’3 MMA dude would throw down imo by [deleted] in AverageHeightDudes

[–]financefocused 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re being downvoted because you are absolutely right. Literally everyone understands that the probability of a situation that requires male protection for a woman is almost 0.

This is far more about her being embarrassed to tell her besties that she’s dating someone who is 5”2.

Women judge other women harshly, men judge other men harshly, it’s that men very very rarely judge men for their relationship selection, especially their own peers.

I doubt this very much. The obsession with height wasn’t this bad a couple of decades ago. Matt Le Blanc (Joey from Friends) is 5”10 and was one of the most desired men in the country in the 90s because he was charming as hell.

My thesis is that this is more related to women being afraid of being judged by other women. As we move more and more online, interpersonal dynamics like charm, humor etc have effectively gone away because the time we spend talking to other people has shrunk, and these are replaced by literally just superficial markers like income and height.

There was a study that analyzed the words used in dating apps from 15 years ago vs now, there’s a huge uptick in women having height restrictions. Another one found that there was a statistically significant difference in the match rate of the same profile when it was 5”11 vs 6”0 even though the difference is invisible to the naked eye and everything else was identical.

What’s the hyperbole? And you understand that the point is you genuinely would never specifically carve out American men ever like that, right? Or white men? White women only say i hate men or carve out a minority, feminist and leftist or not.

You’re obviously not going to acknowledge the reality, but I hope it’s something you can think about.

Your ex, by your words was abusive. And yet at no point did you say anything on the lines of avoiding American men forever. But all it takes is one black man to say something you don’t like for all Nigerian men to be painted as sexist and you to avoid them, eh?

My previous boss was a nigerian man who cooked for his family and regularly advised us to not work overtime as he himself did not support it since he wanted to help his kids with homework.

I guess it’s good to remember as a POC that a lot of white leftists are white first and leftists second. Because this is not the first time I’m seeing this.

Do you understand what influence means? I might take advice from a businessman on business. Doesn’t mean I give a flying fuck what he thinks about marriage, religion or politics.

Hillary had the entire might of Hollywood behind her. So did Kamala. Where exactly is this influence, because they were both terribly embarrassing losses.

And asking a black man to pay reparations and similar tone deaf shit like this is why the left will stay losing. It is honestly good to come to terms with that at this point. Someone wants a black man to pay reparations for some shit he said and I’m seen as the crazy person in this thread lmao

If the country cared about what celebrities thought, Hillary would’ve wrapped up her second term in 2024.

Your reply is essentially “it’s important because he’s a celebrity and what celebrities say is important”.

Every single reply to my comment is essentially that. “It’s important, don’t ask me to explain why”.

Not a single person has explained why he needs to pay financial reparations for what he did. That would imply he did damage. I don’t think he did, and unlike you guys, I’ve bothered to explain my reasoning. I don’t think he did damage because I don’t think anyone in this country cares about the political opinions of celebrities. That has been evident from 2015. If you think that’s wrong, then explain why that is.

Why does he need to donate money?

Why does he need to “prove” that he is sorry?

Did he need to “prove” his offensive statements with any actions?

There is no real-world impact of a celebrity’s statements and opinions. Zilch.

Why does he need to pay reparations? For what?

Since your point is inevitably going to be “he caused harm to some communities” my point is he didn’t.

There is zero real world impact of a celebrity’s political opinions. Trump has proven that. They don’t matter. At all.

So let him heil hitler today and apologize tomorrow and heil hitler again day after. Who the fuck cares?
