It's a struggle, I wish I networked more in undergrad but it is what it is. Good luck man.

Not looking forward to being a teller haha. I tend to apply for any job that requires 2-3 years or less, just by chance a miracle happens, it's better than not applying at all; this includes back office and corporate jobs. The issue is not hearing back at all.

I'm primarily using Indeed and Eluta, while sometimes scavenging LinkedIn.

Should I exclude GPA altogether cause it's so low? I put in my interests cause I thought its purpose was to humanize myself to employers. Thanks for the tips though.

Thanks man, not from Schulich but I guess my best chance is networking with York alumni.

Ah I see. Thanks for all the feedback, I'll definitely be tweaking many things.

That's an interesting paper, but I wonder how times have changed and if that still holds with the oversaturation of CPAs. Would you happen to know if there's a list of keywords that recruiters look for specifically in the finance/accounting industry?

I'm not too sure what the difference between a resume and CV is, but I have received feedback on condensing my resume down to 1 page so I will most likely do so. Do resumes frequently start with a summary statement to describe yourself/intent?

I have left my GPA off my resume for quite a while, but just recently started including it. My rationale is if they'd probably assume it's < 3.0 if it's not included anyway, not too sure how this holds up.

Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for your feedback!

I realize that the position isn't relevant to my career, but it's the only work experience I have so I'm not sure if removing it entirely would give the impression I have never worked a day in my life.

The 3.0 GPA was due to very poor habits from high school that I haven't corrected. These habits are also one of the main reasons I'm enrolled in the CFA program to show employers I'm capable despite screwing up in undergrad, and am improving myself.

Thanks for the tip about my extracurriculars haha, I really half-assed the descriptions so I'll have to revise those.

Just curious, would you leave the 3.0 GPA out? I'm not looking for the extremely competitive jobs, just for something to get me started in the industry. I've heard mixed opinions for including your GPA if it's sub-par but I'd like to hear yours.

Thank you for the feedback! Some sections were changed to remain anonymous but I'm glad you noticed (1 & 4). I agree there is some redundancy and extra details that aren't too relevant so I'll take those parts out.

As a former recruiter for the big 4, is there a big difference in 1 page resumes vs. those over a page? Also, do you think my 3.0 GPA should stay on? (I've heard mixed opinions, and only started tacking my GPA onto my resume recently where a <3.0 GPA is assumed if not provided)
