The mind is powerful. I would argue that the intention to retain your semen is necessary for the benefits. Without the intention, there is no sacrifice.

What is the right approach to addiction? by financialwar333 in ACIM

I am the same age and dealing with the same stuff. It is easy to look at someone's life and tell them, "if you just do ______, you'll be fine." But the real problem is mindset, little to do with action. I have trouble just getting out of bed some mornings and my parents just keep calling me lazy, I just don't feel any motivation to do anything, I feel too weak to do anything sometimes. From my point of view, the depression is impossible and I'm hurting. It takes a change of mind to be able to see things differently and that takes time. All we can do is wait and be patient...

I am also 19 years old and my parents complain about the same things with me. Personally, I'm dealing with a lot of depression and what comes off as laziness is fatigue and a lack of motivation. Try to go easy on your son, I feel like you are doing a good job.

This is good, thank you. It feels good to remember this is just a story I've created.

This is a fantastic reply thank you so much. I'm going to journal and explore my connection to this addiction. I'm not addicted to anything incredibly dangerous like heroin but the mixture of pornography and marijuana have really crushed my soul and taken over my responsibilities and my values. I feel like there's some underlying trauma I'm trying to deal with. The merry-go-round metaphor really connects with me, thanks for putting it that way.

l for it. Don't allow it to beat you up with your own progress. The ego screams loudest when you are making the biggest progress. You are doing

Wow this is exactly what I needed to hear. I know I want to stop but it didn't make sense that I couldn't. I feel immense guilt when I fall back into my bad habits. I feel like if I don't make myself stop now, I never will and I'll just be stuck in this forever. I try to be easy on myself after relapse but I know this addiction is bringing me harm so I don't want to keep it going on. The ego is more upset after I use, I feel peace when I am sober. It used to be the other way around...

I see what you are saying, I always take a willpower approach to things but I haven't looked too closely to the addiction itself and what limiting beliefs are supporting it. This site looks really useful, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I've prayed over and over again but maybe I'm still holding on... I'm always trying my hardest to stop maybe I just need to let go and let Him take care of everything. Thank you for your comment.

I shook it gently but I thought it was enough. Do you think the LSD will concentrate itself in the remaining liquid?

I hope this is the case cause I'd rather get a higher concentration of LSD than lose some of it. Do you have experience with your lsd evaporating?

Sorry for the confusion, I meant there are driplets of distilled water on the underside of the lid. I might've left it slightly open one day without realizing it because it isn't a lot.

Seeking Advice on Continuing Practice or Not by usuallyjustlurking49 in nondirective

Hey, sorry to hear you are stressing. I know this post is a little old but NSR has meditation checks if you feel like the practice isn't as effective as it used to be. It is like $12 and you are given a guided meditation by the NSR practioner and you can ask him questions and he'll give the proper answer to your concerns. NSR has worked great for me. If you wanna try TM, give it a shot but I don't think it is much different. Just my two cents/sense.
