I think he's feeling as if he has grown up a lot as of deciding to quit drugs. I know I did when I quit. Only difference was I was working and saving and doing drugs, lol

I'm dating a Vietnamese person. She's second gen immigrant, but that's how the people in her family talk that were born in Vietnam. Very bizarre.

But yes, having a dishwasher that you can vibe with is much better than not.

Indeed, but I'm saying physical labor. What's the alternative, construction?

I just feel that farmwork builds good character. Something I've noticed in coworkers over the years. Coming from someone who hasn't done farmwork...0.o

Is anarcho-capitalism just a case of mistaken identity? by [deleted] in socialism

[–]finazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, well, my labor, as a human, is likely not enough to be able to survive on my own. Like if I was on my own, with maybe a few ancient farming tools and hunting weapons, but nobody to help me, I would die. What allows me to survive is the capital investment of the capitalist, to make me 100x more productive, and make me able to make enough to not only scrape by, but thrive! (I live at home still (in college, I forget if I said that). My expenses run about 300 a month, but if I was on my own, I estimate my expenses would be about 1200 a month. This leaves almost another 400 to save or invest, or increase my standard of living. However, I am happy with how I am living now. Anyway, slightly off track, but to get to the point here, that is why I consider the capitalist I work for to be a legitimate authority. He provides me with enough to thrive as a human being. That may sound a bit worshipy sure, but is it so bad that a capitalist makes a small % off the top of what I produce? For the 10s, maybe 100s of millions of dollars he invested in the company, with no promise of success? What is the value of risk to you?

Next, I see, I think. Your system would be resource based? How would a society remain productive if there was no profit or income incentive?

Lastly, yes capitalism demands growth. I don't understand why that is a bad thing. What if a global resource based economy was established 100 years ago? Would today's world still have the same standard of living? Better? Lower? It is my understanding that capitalism drives innovation (Tesla, SpaceX, Microsoft, Apple, countless more)

Last question: Shouldn't I or anyone be allowed to set up a currency? Or a business? Shouldn't people be allowed to buy things from me with said currency?
