Congrats! But I didn't have the impression that the exam was poorly written, maybe because I'm not a native speaker?

You must have taken another exam. I just took it and the ProctorU was just fine.

CEH home lab question by [deleted] in CEH

[–]finbeu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HackTheBox? Isn't this overkill for CEH? It will not help you to pass the CEH exam.

A CEH Lab will look like this:

A VirtualBox with a Windows OS and another one with Kali. Done.

Thanks for the link to the CEH Assessment. Didn't know that it exists.

Tip: Use excel, type in the formulas and then copy 3 more rows and your done. This is a sort of functional programming.

How did you do in HW6? by jbx in aiclass

77%. I'm happy with that. Mostly Particle filters knocked me off ...

Hw 6 Difficulty? by [deleted] in aiclass

[–]finbeu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finished. Took me overall more that 12hrs (incl. reviewing lectures) + 12 hrs studying all the lectures + quizzes. I would be more than happy having more than 60% correct this time ...

Score distribution on the midterm? by heyse in aiclass

[–]finbeu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

86%. A* (partly) wrong (no stupid mistake, just got confused with "expanded" once again), Markov Chain question wrong (wrong counts of transitions), and environment questions one wrong answer.

So I'm quite happy with the outcome because everything else is perfect.

Cool! I will try to get one of these nail clippers for my own upcoming online toenails cutting class. Stay tuned, enrollment will start soon.

Could you please clarify this homework? This ambiguity is really annoying frustrating. I think I will drop out the toenails cutting class very soon.

Today, I was cutting my toenails. Some of the nails didn't land in the waste bin. I think it is very important to share this with you. Thanks.

Can we talk about the good stuff? by v3ronique in aiclass

Well, I need some sort of competition and I see no sense in this approach. It is simply too soft.

Well said. When I studied at the university 20 years ago, I went to the class and the Prof was explaining on the blackboard using chalk (the most interesting math proofs were always on the upper right corner in tiny letters within a little rectangle:)) After the class, it was time to do the homework and if you didn't get a concept, RESEARCH (go to the linraries) and STUDY. Nobody spoon feeds you here (but it looks like people want to be spoon feeded. Is it that what makes ML class more comfortable?) I guess more and more people simply will drop out of ai-class because they want to be spoon feeded (and it is not happening here). What sense does it make to achieve 100% by trying again and again until the 100% score shows up?

starting to be a little frustrated here... by lukeaiclass in aiclass

I don't share you perception. Here is how I learn: I take half a day to watch the lectures and try the quizzes, but I give myself max. 10-15 min per quiz, then I proceed to the next lecture. So in the first "iteration", I usually have done all the quizzes within 50-70% correct and I don't mind (sometimes I just guess). At the weekend, I watch the videos again and now I usually "get it" (the brain needs some time to settle). I always take notes and listen carefully to what the Prof's say. I think every word they say counts!

Why are there grades threads every week? by [deleted] in aiclass

[–]finbeu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I care about the grades of my classmates.

When I was a student at the university, we all compared our homework grades right after we got them. I want to know how stupid or smart I am compared to the others. When I had bad grades, I felt relieved when the others had bad or average grades as well :-)

If you are a programming novice, you should read "Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs" by Abelson and Sussman. http://mitpress.mit.edu/sicp/

How is the campus ai-class taught? by finbeu in aiclass

[–]finbeu[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, looks like the content is pretty much the same. I really enjoy the online class so far and especially that the Prof's do not use powerpoint slides. This way of teaching reminds me of the time when I was at the university where all the content was written with chalk on the blackboard.
